Saturday

My cousin Judy is a faithful card sender.  I've received one every Christmas for at least 55 years.

Another quiet day.  They seem to be piling up, and I have no problem with that.  Nothing but the usual things happened in the morning.  There were a few phone calls.  Then knitting of course and I finished up the ten burps for babies that were waiting.  That is the burps were waiting, not the babies.

The bird feeders were replenished after cleaning off the patio.  I think the deer were here during the night.  The shepherd's hooks that hold the feeders are a bit off center and I swept up a lot of spilled bird seed.  This is the second time to have happened so far this winter never happening other years.  I've seen deer at neighboring feeders.  I guess it's our turn to feed them.  I would say the mess is the real thing. Not much seed is eaten.

James Horton told me about a short musical concert that his wife, my friend Heidi was a part of this afternoon at Meridan UM Church.  So, I hiked on over to the church to be a part of that audience.  It was a part of the Encore Rocks winter concert series.  Encore groups are found throughout the country. One must be past the age of 55 to sing in this group.  It was a lovely concert with some lively energetic singing with songs like If I had a Hammer, All I have to do is Dream, Imagine, Jingle Bell Rock plus other selections.  The audience of family and friends filled the chapel.

My Heidi friend in the dark top.

And the high school kid that was sitting beside me taught me how to use a QR code.  Now that's an added benefit for sure.

Then it was back home for football, basketball and knitting.  There was plenty of the two to choose from.  Knitting.  I bought some yarn I found to be very slippery to knit.  I managed one scarf a few weeks ago and started the second today becoming frustrated.  So, I pulled what was knitted apart and the yarn is on the shelf with the thought of donating it to the wastebasket. I won't buy any more. I started another white yarn scarf so much easier to knit. I'm hoping to finish it tonight when the Ohio State/Indiana game is completed.

One end finished, the other end waiting.

Another good day with a little variety adding a little excitement tonight.  That always makes things a little more interesting. We'll see how much texting happens with my Ohio State buddy Nancy and me rooting for the Hoosiers.  I could be a Buckeye tonight having spent the first 24 years attached to that state. Gee whiz.  A little football rivalry can't spoil what we are to each other. That's for sure.  And that's the truth. Edith Ann reminds us.
