Monday

With a good sleep to start the day, I was ready for whatever would come my way.  So, it was breakfast, the paper, a garden walk and more.  And there was a whole lot more.

These wood chips brighten my day.  A super reuse of a wonderful old friend.

I was off to Quilt Quarters for yellow and green batik to add to the stole making.  And the morning was spent with the fabric cutter and the sewing machine.  I was on a roll but there were other plans for at least part of the morning.  A neighbor's tree down the road fell on the power lines and the electricity was no more.  So that meant the sewing machine didn't work.  It isn't the treadle type machine, you know. So, I did what I could meaning cutting more fabric for a bit .

Far from finished but closer than this morning.

Then it was outside of course because not much worked in the house.  I snipped off the tops of snapdragons and zinnias that will allow them to grow into bushier plants.  It always hurts slowing them down for a while.  The outcome is always good.  Later in the day the Tuesday expected crew that would trim and take down our neighbors trees arrived.  There was a big crew for lots of big work. My goodness, it was noisy.  I guess you could say it was tree day in Holaday Hills.

The final cleanup.  That truck was huge!

The power came sooner than expected and I was back on the sewing machine till the middle of the afternoon finishing the first part of stole making.  Then came the embellishing part.  Of course, that could go on forever and it did until we left for supper with the North Church North Siders at McAlister's.  Woo was there a whole lot of talk with 14 of us.

Then back home picking up the sewing again adding more things.  The deadline for this project is Wednesday.  I think I'll make it if I keep sewing in every minute available.

So, the beat goes on.  Tomorrow Doug and I both have things to do taking care of our bodies.  There's the monthly shot for him and my last time with my PT Roe.  That's it, folks.  Back to the needle.
