First Day

The title words always, always remind me of a wonderful anthem we have sung about the tumb on the first day that we have sung on Easter morning.  That's a memory worth keeping.  Yesterday was another very busy morning at Bread and bowl.  Four of our regular hard workers had other obligations leaving us with half of a crew.  I felt like I was on rollerskates all morning keeping all the irons in the fire heated and working.  And we made it.  I certainly will make a note of thanking the whole crew for their commitment when all return in two weeks.  Some days are like that even in Australia Alexander would remind us.

The afternoon was basketball once again that continued into the evening.  Such great basketball competitive games.  Jared called so we had a great visit during the time that Jacob was at his clarinet lesson in Bay City.  I think we entertain each other during the wait time.  I'll take it.

I was thinking of pictures and of course, there is a bird one but I think the best second picture would just be a picture of what is anticipated once again to be seen in the yard as it was last year.  It's a great place to rest one's eyes.

The first six readers have read the first version of today's blog.  It seems a large part has disappeared.  Crazy means that I've been messing with something that should not be messed with.  I'm adding a

picture of what was last summer and what I hope will be again this summer.  It's a picture of last years Sun Flower in the garden.  It's a reminder of Ukraine's national flower.  One that allows them to make a lot of sunflower oil.  Such a pretty flower with colors so clean.  Lots of Black Eyed Susan around it as well.
Last but first on my list of fun things is being a grandmother to five grandsons.  You will be showered with a bragging paragraph of family information.  This next picture is a picture of the first of five, Jacob Russell, belonging to my Michigan Russell family.

Jacob is in his concert clothes ready for an evening of music at his high school.  Jacob is on the right with two of his good band friends.  He's a clarinet player, second chair now with the aim of taking first chair next year,   He loves playing his instrument, taking private lessons.  Jacob's brother Adam is a retired trombone player and now starting lessons on his guitar.  Younger brother Eli also is a clarinet player.  His Schaard grandparents and Russell grandparents are over the moon enjoying all of their grandchildren.  Our Carmel Russell boys both play handbells in our church ensemble.  Love the fact that they all are working somewhere in the musical field.  Jacob also is participating in a unique Michigan education program that allows him to take college classes during his last two years in high school.  He will graduate with a 2 year degree at the end of his high school years. His classes are 4 mornings during the week at Delta college located in Bay City, Michigan.
