So far today...

The biggie that happened so far today is the news that two chipmunks trapped themselves in less than 15 minutes.  From Ferruginous Hawk to Chipmunk.  That's a far trip.  Chipmunk season has arrived later than expected but it is here.  So far 4 chipmunks in the last three days.  Pretty good catch I would say.  They all have arrived safely at the woods, happy to be back with their friends from the yard.

Today arrived cloudy with some gentle rains.  A great morning to transplant zinnia and calendula plants.  Never fear, those transplanted are well protected from the sprayer man hidden from him on the north side of the yard.  The seedlings are looking good, with a promise to grow.  There are still many to be moved when the world is safe for them.

The Carolina Wrens are busy as any parent planning a family.  The house was sitting on the patio where they were in and out in fine fashion so I thought it better to move the house away from the door.  They are continuing to be in and out in fine fashion. I can say this is our first pair of Carolina's to watch doing a ton of work. We've had many House Wrens in past years.

Some silk flowers around the birdhouse pole!

The TV shooting news is unbelievable in some respects, but teachers shielding their children is an understandable fact.  My heart cries for those teachers and students. Pray for necessary productive legislation to occur.  The solution, such as no smoking in bars that once seemed impossible to enforce, did become law and is working. Who would have thought that could happen.  Likewise regulation for gun safety reasons must somehow follow a similar path to success.  We must begin.   Pray for the families.  Better yet pray for the world.

Lantana, a Monarch favorite and an attempt                                                                                       to feed my mind with something good.
Memories of a Georgia flowerbed as well as a
