With Thanksgiving.

Pansies on the way out but still looking good enough for a picture.

That thanksgiving for a wonderful night of sleep, ready with eyes open to a new day of what-ifs.  The morning started with an empty trap which changed after about two hours of being awake.  Yes...the string now is 7 with two extra visitors on two different days. A total of 9.  All of them have the chance to run and jump together in the woods.  We need to add the word chipmunk to this paragraph.  There's a hymn with words about the circle being unbroken.  I don't think chipmunks were in mind when this song was written but I think the words work in this case. .   Another chipmunk ran into the trap around 7 pm...another trip to the woods.  10 total.

A rose we brought to this house and planted about 48 years ago.

Doug woke up with the words, it's beginning to hurt again.  So...the only o ption was to take a drive to our home away from home, I U North Hospital.  We arrived around 9 and left at 1 with no real diagnosis for why there is pain. Doug thought and talked about a kidney stone but in my mind, I thought that he didn't seem to want to swallow a whole bottle of pain killer drugs as I wanted to consume when I developed a stone.. There was no stone.  (unturned) We'll see what comes up next with a soon-to-be-made appointment with his primary doctor.  That's the Doug story for today.  Thanks be to God for this chapter to end with a question mark.  I'm hoping for the period soon.

The little zinnias are finding their place in the garden, looking good and growing well.

The afternoon was a bit steamy so the shade was a good place to hang out.  Some water needy transplants got a drink and the evening hours saw zinnia moving to the big garden which is really not such a big garden.  More sprinkling can water happened for most veg. plants. Another plant was potted for Michigan.

Another little friend ready to support all the other zinnias that became                                                         their neighbors zinnias who moved into the neighborhood last night.                                                                            The garden could be called Zinnia Town.

A slow Memorial Day with an unusual start.  One part not to be repeated is my hope.  But if       more what ifs come along we can handle it.  God be near.

                                                    Neighbor Kathy and I

There was a late afternoon relaxing visit with the neighbors.  Lots of things to laugh and tease about.  Such great neighbors are much appreciated.  We could talk for hours, which we did.
