8 degrees

The heat was turned down for today just a tad.  Tuesday was just a pressure cooker day leading to some limp folks at this house.  So today was a bit better.  I think the high was 91.

I started the day early, early with another round of watering.  Only the annuals got a drink.  The perennials probably will put me on the black list.  I hope to taper off with this job when the rain arrives.  Big storms that were north and south just pushed all the dry air over Carmel.  I am really happy that the farmers got a bit of relief which hopefully arrived in time for corn and beans.  Our road trip takes us through a lot of farm land both in Indiana and Illinois. Sad-looking fields are depressing for sure.

I went to Kat's grocery store around one and purchased two items Kat told me about.  One item is a Salmon cream cheese ball.  It's a great spread for a bagel for sure.  Yum.  The second thing was a chicken potpie which also was really good with lots of rotisserie chicken used in the chicken part of the pie..  Both are made at the store.  I added melon for supper.

On the way home from the store I passed my good friend Sue Z. house. We taught second grade together for years.   Every year she has a yard full of flowers and vegetables completely circling her house planted with design in mind.  I stopped to see her but she wasn't at home.  But I walked the gardens anyways.  So beautiful with huge drifts of color.  Today's pictures are from her garden.

Again the rest of the day was a bit sleepy.  The antihistamine continues but the itch is a bit better.  I hope that continues.
