Cooked in Carmel

My phone says that it's hot in Carmel.  It's close to 100...that being 99.  It's a cooker for sure.

The cup plant continues to bloom with more flowers opening every day.

My breakfast on the patio allowed me to see our hawks again.  This time they were on the ground fussing with something.  It would seem sharing something of interest was not on the agenda.  They fussed for a while until one of them gave up and flew off.  They sure are entertainers.

Today I had a six months visit with my radiation doctor, Dr. Langer.  It lasted no longer than 5 minutes.  That was long enough for me. It wasn't uncomfortable. The 5 minutes visit told me that I'm fine.  The message is that I'm seeing other doctors related to the cancer world and Dr. Langer wants to stand in the background.  Yeah.  I love it!  I love him.  My next visit is scheduled in 9 months. Yes...I have enough folks looking after me at the moment.  There was a new doctor trailing him and I spent some time with him since I U hospitals are teaching hospitals.  I love that part.  Each one teaches one.  Since Dr. Langer is now at the Simon Cancer Center downtown the visit was a time consumer.  I made the decision to stay with Dr. Langer when he announced that he was moving from I U North to the SCC.  I'm still satisfied with that decision.
The first bloom on the Calendula plant.  Some flowers are also orange.

Before the visit and after the visit I stopped at North The UMC to get a feel for changes and improvements we will be making this week to the Bread and Bowl program.  During the pandemic, we sent all the food home with folks.  There was no eating in the Community Room at the church.  We are moving back to our old way of serving with the option of eating a meal together in the Community Room but also offering carry-out for folks needing that option.  The change seemed to go pretty smoothly for the Tuesday Crew and I would expect the same for us this coming Saturday.

A new Daylily.  So pretty, so pretty.

The rest of the day has been spent staying quiet and drinking lots of iced tea.  The heat continues and we're hanging in there.  Rain is predicted if it doesn't all evaporate before it gets here.  Joke, joke!

The Giggers are still around.  That's a huge bummer.  Scratch, scratch!  Itch, Itch?  Scratch, Scratch!

It's a yellow flower Tuesday.
