Saturday story...more animals.
Henny Penny...The sky is falling.
Another week lived. There have been many and for that I am thankful. Seeing children become responsible adults, then grandchildren finding their place with good mentoring, learning the ins and outs of life. That is gratifying. Life has been good.
New Years Day 2022The garden told me this morning that it was time to do more clearing. I worked on two Iris beds early in the day, making sure that the base of the plant would remain bore-free and healthy for the rest of the year. In the evening I finished the la st big patch of Iris. That job is added to all the rest that involves standing on one's head for a time. I think of Iris as my orchids of the garden. They are ready for next year's blossoms. That job is finished for this year.
Our Michigan Russells are the owners of free-range chickens. They are the prettiest clean birds that have taken over the farm. After a 15-year history with chickens, the 2022 group has found the hostas. Yum, Yum. Today I discovered that the deer have been parading through the garden on their night hunts. eating more of that same plant at our house. So the Hosta flowers continue to be clipped and the leaves cut back. So far there is enough for all. The Hosta pictured below goes by the name of Spilled Milk. It has a tiny white line in the center of many of the leaves. Half of the Hosta is gone. It's obvious that deer have put milk on their menu.
Thanks for the picture of the five grandsons. They look like a hardy and intelligent bunch.
