Sunday Excitement.

The day started early for me and my neighbor Roddy across the street.  I was walking the garden and realized my neighbor was also up with a walk around his house at 6:30 AM.  That signaled to me that this was the day that his house would be changing color from a dark orange-brown with gray trim color to a clean and sharp white with gray trim.  I must admit that would not be a Sunday morning event for me to do but I am not a decision-maker for others. THANK GOODNESS!  So the first part of the morning was spent watching and sending pictures to Suzie also the occupant of the house. I am an excited neighbor knowing that love and care once again have returned to the home across the street that had been vacant for many, many years, slowly decaying as we watched.  One side and front have been tackled, a great transformation with more to come.

Then there was the mid-morning trip to church hearing words that challenged the mind to think of current issues that are at the forefront of our lives.  It was a morning of surprise thinking.  It also was Communion Sunday celebrated every first Sunday of the month with Darren Cushman-Wood at the communion table.

Darren's stole, a gift from Lisa Hamilton was made for Dick Hamilton a dearly loved Sr. Minister at North and now deceased.  It was stitched by Doris Douglas.  Dick's wearing this stole has stayed in my bank of memories.

Eric Russell visited this afternoon with Kat and Noah.  Andrew is a counselor at a camp for the week. North's staff person, Amy Sell is also with the campers along with a whole lot of North's younger children.   Eric's removed the seats in the van that soon will be packed full for our coming camping trip. One more thing to check off has been completed.  I usually do the seat removal but for some reason, those seats are gaining in weight and harder to lift out.  It's a young man's job from now on.

We spent some time in the yard experiencing another great hawk visit seeing two near each other in the tree. although my picture only shows one.  They are impressive majestic birds that cause one to be in awe when viewing them.  They were very near again. Their call comes to us loud and clear.

The zinnias have an appointment with me more than once a day with my wondering what color they will be.  I planted a package of big pink zinnias but I'm beginning to believe that the pink was really a very deep pink that looks red to my eyes.  But do I care?  Not a bit.  Whatever they are is good enough for me although healthy is at the top of the list.  In reality, the color is fire engine red!  I'm sure there will be more surprises in the zinnia beds as well as from unexpected other places this coming week.
