Saturday.
Another wonderful weather morning. All of the at home morning routine was completed and I was off to church for our Saturday Bread and Bowl morning. I was the first one there and got started doing what needed doing. We had a total of 5 experienced workers which made a good team.
More color is showing on the Autumn Joy succulents.
Saturdays have been a bit slow compared to our Tues and Thurs crowd but today was different. We served 43 folks in the community room with some folks asking for a second plate. There were 38 carry-out meals. All the food was gone by 12 o'clock. Folks were served and the fact that we threw nothing away indicates a great day in the Community Room.
These three bright-eyed children came for lunch near the end of the hour with their grandmother. There is a 5th grader, kindergartener and second-grade student all with great conversational skills used while visiting. I hope they return to get five prints of this picture made for them.We spent some additional time in the sanctuary choosing a banner that could celebrate the season and compliment the altar flowers for tomorrow's service.
This zinnia plant has flowers that are drying on the plant. When collecting seeds choose flowers that are drying as these brown ones are. They will produce viable seeds at the end of each peddle. Pull them out gently and store them either in a jar or paper envelope.
The afternoon again was another day of beautiful weather making it very enjoyable to be outdoors. More seeds were harvested.
I decided to pick the three colors of asters and use the small vase Kimmy made to show the three different colors of Asters. These cool days are just what is need to keep all flowers at their best.A little football was watched while doing seed preparation and of course, I fell asleep for a bit. I have one thing in common with a three month old baby who also naps.
