Sunday. the Eve of Christmas Day.

And just like any other Sunday, we were off to church.  The 8:30 service was cancled.  The 11:00 worship hour stayed the same. The morning service looked spiffy for sure.

We added white poinsettias on the altar for the three Christmas Eve services.

After morning church, it was time to get ready for the 5 o'clock family service given by the children of the church.  So changes were made to fit that service.  The small candles for the congregation were put in place.  How many? Who knows.  It's a guess that has been made harder since Covid.  I hope we're ready.

After the 5 o'clock family service, it was time for picture-taking for many folks.                                     Many families hung around visiting for a while.  Kids were back from college             and two  families had their children home from Denmark!  A time for great church reunions.

We got home from the morning service a bit later than usual just in time to find the Colts game on TV.  It wasn't a good day but that happens.  I made a little trip to JoAnn's for boning and D rings.  Both are needed for the Nursing cover-ups.  The pattern came through last night and today I finished one with the thought of getting an OK before I move on to more coverups.  They are easy to make and another excuse to play with fabric.

This group has played for the 7:30 service for many years.  They are just the best clarinet players.                                  Some years they bring their saxophones.  They bring such good music.

At 5 PM Doug took me to church so that I could see that all the changes landed where I could find them sooner than later.  The 5 service is the worst for changes. After the 7 it's a little easier and after the 10:30 service we can do any changes later in the week. That service ends at midnight.  It's time to head home.

Doug decided to come to the 10:30 service of lessons and carols.  Sometimes I think church is an addiction. We got to our beds a little after 1 with no need to get ready for Christmas Day.  Woo, woo.  That is a gift. But, I think I'll be hearing a little engine going I think I can!

So to all my readers...some I know and some I don't know.  Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring changes that reflect what we really should be about.  And the day will give me time to sew.!!!!

It's cover-up time for the Goodwill nursing mothers.  I got a tentative OK. I'm moving on.

This blog entry was posted on Christmas morning.  My brain went to sleep on the way home around 12:30 AM.
