Friday

Another bitter temperature with 2 inches of very fluffy snow.  There's a wind factor being added. The outside hurts.

It still looks like Christmas at this house.                                                                                  Maybe time away from the sewing machine would make a difference.

I took Eric to Nora and on the way the "time to change the oil' message came on the dashboard.  So after Eric left me, I was on the way to Penske Honda. The message in my head was "Get it over with".  I thought they would not be very busy this morning and that certainly was the case.  So 45 minutes later I was back on the road after a tire switch and an oil change.  Then to the gas station to get a fill-up.  Better to have a full tank when the weather continues its brutal temperature. Home by 8:45 with Doug just appearing with the clothes on the way to the washing machine.  A very good morning of doing what one needs to do for both of us.

I moved on to the sewing room.  Why not?  More sewing was completed and the stack is getting a little higher.  I think there will be 20 more cover-ups for a Sunday trip to Ginny.  She'll truck them on to the right person on Monday. Kat is my go-to person when it comes to ordering things online.  This morning she ordered another 100 D rings for cover-ups.  Each one takes 2 rings  I've finished 40 cover-ups.  More pieces are waiting in the to-be-finished line.  I think they sent some extra D rings.  I've had a whole lot of fun lately.

The stash of twenty cover-ups is ready.

The birds are coming and going but not very often.  Two Flickers were at the suet at the same time.  The red belly appeared along with a lone Starling who got chased off by the Peckers.  The Caroline Wren showed up along with a big family of Finch. The bunch is pretty tough on a day with 15 degrees and a wind chill of who knows what.  My guess is near zero.  I found out that it was a big plus 2.

The city salt truck with the snow blade has been by.  Once again Carmel is on it when it comes to snow. The neighbor is out with the snow blower and Doug pushed the shovel to the street making a path to the mailbox.  We're ready for the next blast of winter. Our new furnace is keeping us warmer than the old one but an over-the-top sweatshirt makes it really comfortable.  We're living on the plus side of life.

                                                                Another Christmas Corner.

Good old meatloaf and vegetables with a little applesauce brought Doug to the kitchen for supper.
