Sunday.
It was so nice to see a splash of color coming from the flowers this morning. I would say the winter doldrums were forgotten for a while.
The morning got off to a very early start. Should we say 2 am? Yes, another one of those nights that comes around every now and then. So I was up early watching a little TV among other things. We were off to church early and this time the youth had Sunday School which we filled with about 20 minutes of putting Xmas away. Woo...I love those young legs that decided Fireman style is a great way to put ALL the stuff we got out this year back in the attic. They filled the rest of the morning with SS. Nativities are at rest for another 11 months. Roping baskets, bows and stuff at rest. The two eight foot tables that were loaded to the max have been stored away and all the other stuff has found their home again. It's such a load off my mind when that happens. Woo, woo. I can forget about that church job!!! Now I need to tackle this house.
This is my grandson Noah when he was six yr. old. I'll admit that's a guess. Today he was one of the big kids who helped his grandma move things to the attic this morning. I have a head full of memories when he visited every Friday. We had a great time together. He is just the best helper. The next big church season of the year is LENT. And it's just around the corner. I used some of that 2 am time to think about that last night. It will be crosses with a few other banners. We're keeping it simple.
Good sermon and good music today as usual. The men sang and there was GREAT violin and cello music.
Ginnie sent me a text yesterday saying she wanted to talk to me after church. I thought she had some answers to questions which was true. One biggie was how many cover-ups would be enough? Are you ready? 135 more! Woo. I can do it but I was really surprised. Big time surprised. So I'll be sewing for a while. That's in addition to the 80 I have already given her. Little by little the train made it over the mountain
. I may need a second locomotive pushing at the rear. I think these cover-ups are going out to places across the state. Goodwill's baby program is statewide. Ginnie is looking for sheets!!!!
A few weeks ago Heidi and I spent some time at church working in our visuals closet. We're just not neatnicks but we try. Yesterday I took a picture of some of what we accomplished. We're not quite finished with this area but we're pretty close. It's about 15 minutes of ladder put away. We have started on the sacristy. We're adding another rod for hanging minister's robes giving the banners more space and another shelf. A few things have been eliminated already. The shelves need to be anchored in cement walls. We're calling in the big equipment. It's called Andy and Eric.
These have been eliminated by the Terminator! Stored for over 20 years would tell us we don't need them. We need the space they are occupying.A few of the things needed to get us to the magic number of 135 I have plenty of D rings but have reordered boning. Well, Kat has ordered more. That's the white stiffening. The next thing will be thread!
This afternoon the new stash toward 135 has risen to 13 so I'm on the way and the burps have reached the 500 total number with the 5th 100 finished this afternoon. I'll put that project on the shelf for a
while.
It was football this afternoon although I think tonight's game will also be interesting. Go Detroit.
We saw a few birds today. It's been pretty sparse lately. I might need to truck in a few. If only I knew where to load up.
The calendar of the week says no outside commitments. .That's my kind of week. I have about 7 fabric pieces to sew and then I'll be on the prowl looking for those flat sheets at 3.99 each. I love the hunt. I've ordered more boneing and the supply of D rings will keep me going for a while. There are miles to walk before I sleep! Maybe I should be thinking there are miles to sleep before I walk.
