Friday

The morning started slowly.  The night had a big hole in it which is nothing new and something I just accept for now.  That's just the way it is at 10420.  Go with the flow.  So a slow morning was just right.

Just a little more edging to mark the path to the neighbors.  I've got to know where my feet are going. This is also the deer path discovering that a Tulip tree has had a serious nibble along with some day lilly flowers.  Oh, well there has to be something for everyone.  Good old Georgia needles in the picture.

I began thinking about ground cover knowing that a job was waiting to wack back the ground cover that was lining the paths to the north side of the house.  It would be a job like Kathy was doing around her trees but not as difficult.  The shovel came out and I lined the paths again with an almost but not quite finished announcement.

One wing up and ready for take-off.  Kiddo remember it takes two wings to really fly.

The blue birds continue to work on getting the house ready for the next family yet to be numbered.  They are busy as a bee taking care of themselves and the world when that needs to be addressed.  The box is full almost to the top.  Much fuller than for the first family.  I guess one just can't get enough Georgia needles.

I'm wondering if they need a bogger box.

We made a stop at the library in the late afternoon.  Parking was a breeze; the library had many empty parking spaces.  Oh, yes.  School is over until early August.  The library is usually full of kids.  A good problem to have.

I don't think I'll every run out of books to borrow.

Once again it was supper on the patio with entertainment coming from our squirrel family now sporting tiny twins that just couldn't hold still but were everywhere.  We announced that the hotel had vacancies available but they were to busy to take advantage.  My fairy family is often displaced by this active twesome.

The garden work was at a minimum this morning.  There was a long visit by two more walking ladies who were new to me.  There was a lot of conversation that indicated we had a lot in common.  The last three tiny zinnias found a home and I would say that the garden is as finished as most admit.  I'm sure there will be tweaking that I'm saying doesn't count as work.

Here are Basil plants that soon will be thinned and transplanted.  See...not finished.                                                                                One darn maple seed.

Tonight, the darkness is a bit premature because a good storm should be here soon.  Fingers crossed.  The plants are looking healthy with just two swamp milkweeds needing a boost. The third one will make it.  Since there is so much common milkweed this year, I just may say that buying swamp is not necessary. We'll go with what we have.

It's been another wonderful day with this and that.  There was time to be very tired and also time for great sleeping that filled the nighttime hole.  Doug helped with supper stuff and the day has been productive.  I have still to hear anything about the Xray but in due time.  There was some discussion about an eventual MRI.  That remains to be seen. That hip doesn't forget to let me know it's hanging around.  It might have something to do with the shovel.
