Saturday
Another easy day. And eventually I needed the clippers to gather flowers for the altar area at church tomorrow. I met Heidi there with her contribution and we got started. What a bummer that the camera was in my back pocket, and I forgot to take pictures. Heidi brought beautiful glads of a delicate salmon color. They are beautiful. I loaded up with everything here and we made four arrangements. Two for the chapel and two for the sanctuary. What fun to work with such beautiful gifts.
We had time to talk with pastor Darren about the life of the church while working. That was another great gift.
Home for lunch and yup...time to sleep. It was another short sleep last night, so the nap came in handy.
Locked and Loaded. I think that refers to a gun. But this time it's the Honda van.As you know, it's been a little by little getting ready for the trip north but around 2:30 I got really serious about packing the van. That meant a good clean out of the van, a blow out of the garage and then a gathering of everything in the middle of the garage with the car doors open ready for the big fill. We've done this so often that it's really no big deal. By four all but a few things found a spot for the trip. Doug gassed up and tomorrow morning the overnight stop bag will be added with the C pap machine and the last minute things from the refrigerator along with any other thing we forgot. Maps are in the car although we really don't need any. Books will be added and my favorite sleeping pillow will not be forgotten. So the vacation of 2024 will be added to the huge bank of memories. Oops. I just remembered I need to add the skillet for breakfast pancakes. There's always something. That would be a horrible event they would never let me forget.
We're off to see the wizard or any other song that fits the theme of movin' on up in this case to the north land.
I plan to have some stress-free days. Playing cards with family and laughing till we're laughed out. There will be kayak rides I'm sure and walks with the dog. Campfires with smores and early morning coffee with the old folks visiting while the grandsons wake up. A little grocery shopping but not much. Ice cream cones and walks to the beach. No TV. No Computer. No cell towers. Maybe some reading and a sure thing that naps will happen in the lawn chair. It's the best friend one can have. There will be visits with Leslie and Dennis, Judy and Gary. I may read a little about Genomics but then again maybe not. I'm sure I'll ace the test with great folks walking along side if I study or not. Life is good...No, better than good. Life is super, no matter what!
So the computer will be turned off until early August. So long friends for just a little while.
You've missed some amazing news! ! ! Our world upside down again. . . .
