Mama eating acorns in the front yard.  Yum, yum.

Twin babies this evening taking it easy while Mama snacks.

A great last night of sleeping even though the temp was a bit warm.  It was oatmeal that got the day started.  I spent some time at the sewing machine with the first set of 10 burps completed working toward another 100.

This morning while waiting for driver Doug to appear to move us on our way to S C Center I spotted a MONARCH.  Woo...I took it as a sign that today would be good.  And it was.

Then it was time to move on to the Simon Center with a Dr. Schnider visit.  He started the conversation with "we have a lot to talk about".  And talk we did with the first sentence about the unusualness of this kind of cancer.  Dah.  I've heard that before and he once again confirmed it.  Simply said it is sort of a hybrid looking like two different cancers smushed together.  One being breast cancer that showed a little evidence in the biopsy. Those are my simply said words. So, I get the breast cancer treatment with scans to determine if it's working.  If not working, the treatment will be changed.  Simply said, the treatment will be shots every two weeks but eventually once a month and pills three out of four weeks.  The shots and scans can happen at I U North 10 minutes from home.  I can expect side effects from both treatments. There is no cancer cure, but good quality of life will be the goal. My first visit back for a check up is in five weeks. I'll see a dietitian then as well. I'm happy with the visit.

Phone calls were made to the family and friends, and I visited the neighbor with the news.

There was more sewing in the afternoon. The mothers of the babies receiving burps need to remember their babies need to be burped so I need to spit out more burps for spit catching.

I wasn't crazy about this pattern when I found it at Goodwill, but I bought it anyways because it was flannel.  I think it has made the cutest burps. The upside-down Dennis bowl outlines both ends of the burps telling me where to sew.  It's perfect.

I stayed inside during the hottest part of the day hoping that everything stuck outside was surviving the heat of the day.  I'll water tomorrow morning.

A late afternoon call from Jared reported that Adam tore his ACL.  Surgery coming after a bit of rehab.  Are the Russell's falling apart?  Add Eric's latest bike accident.  So far Doug and Jared are just fine.

Strength for the day and bright hope for tomorrow. Blessings all mine and ten thousand beside. Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.

  2. well, so far there is nothing new on my end either - so count me in with Doug and Jared. And maybe Rick, too.
I'll post you on our prayer board again.
