Friday

The day started slowly again. I just let it be slow as long as it wanted to be. No pushing the envelope.  The pills were swallowed, and the once-a-week diabetic shot happened.  Coffee happened and today I tried oatmeal again.  Friday was on the way.

My favorite way to take pictures of the leaves.  So pretty and so unique.  It's a God creation.

A thyroid pill should happen in the middle of the night on an empty stomach and on a stomach that should stay empty while the pill does it's work.  While checking for pill time, I discovered that the light on my Timex watch was gone telling me it needed a new battery.

I love macaroni.  Doug hates it.  So today part of the soup has it and part of the soup doesn't.                                                                                      We're both happy.

So, the news to Doug in the morning was the need for a battery run as well as an Aldi run.  I needed onions.  So, we did both but of course we brought home much more than onions.  You have heard the phrase...one thing leads to another?  That became clear when I realized the celery would not fit in the veg drawer.  My suggestion would be to make the drawer bigger.  Makes sense.  The celery needed to be trimmed and the solution to the trimmings was to make chicken veg. soup. I needed to find room in the freezer for ground chicken needed later for Thanksgiving chili making and sloppy joe making.  So the Amish pretzels needed to be baked making room for today's purchases.  Yup.  One thing leads to another.  I can say the problems are no more.  All is well, all is well, all is well.  I remember the Morman's!  That took a big chunk of the day.

This was a last year choir fund raiser for one of the Carmel schools.  I'm a little slow on this one.                                     The pretzels were still pretty good.  Especially with chicken veg. soup.

Once again, the trip out was very picturesque.  Beautiful colors.  We had a very light rain this morning, but nothing has come along to blow or kill the leaves on the trees.  All is gorgeous this fall.

Our neighbor's tree at the bottom of the hill.  A perfect site for us to see everything it has to offer.

Time left in the afternoon was used for sleeping and harvesting seeds, packaging them and marking the envelopes.  I did a walk around and am pretty happy with how the gardens look ready for winter.  A little more artemisia, grasses and a few Mexican Sunflowers to trim.  If that doesn't happen, its no big deal.

Snap Dragons are such hardy plants.  They probably will be the last to freeze.

I walked the garden to see what was new.  And there were new things.  Seeds have sprouted.

4 o'clock flowers are up, zinnias are up, dill is up.                                                                      I think someone is thinking spring and there is a winter to pass through first.

This little zinnia was a late comer.  I thought it deserved a chance to bloom so I saved it.  It's first blossom is the dead one that I pulled off today.  The seeds looked healthy so I planted them hoping they appear next spring.  Something new to try.
