Tuesday.
Another morning with all but one usual. And that one came in the afternoon. I don't think we have ever had a morning paper delivered at 2 pm. I would say better late than never. The paper man is sick and the wife of the paper man made the delivery. Good for her!
The second crocus.I spent the morning knitting again starting with a new color of yarn. There is always part of the process when it is easy to lose a stitch, and I did so there was some frogging and then some more knitting. Frogging is another term for rib it, rib it, rib it. Get it?
At some point Doug reported that the Sandhill Cranes were heading north again so I dumped the knitting and headed outside. And the ones he saw were gone. I knew they would be back, so I decided to stay outside to wait for them. I love to hear their song and once again they were so high to be almost out of sight. But they continued to move north in groups for hours. What a delight. I love those seasonal markers. and the Cranes certainly do that in a big way. And some cranes spend the summer in fields near Jared's house.
So, in order to hear and see even more of them I decided to do a little bit of gardening. As you know it's the brown season now and the Lenten Rose leaves are huge and BROWN. It was time to do something about that which resulted in a Big Blue being filled with a whole lot of brown leaves. Tomorrow is garbage day. Woo. Lucky me!
What is left now is the center part of the plant where the Lenten Rose flowers will appear, along with the soon to grow new leaves. Woo. Bring them on.
Soon to open, a little white and pink Lenten Rose.During the fall season, I often wondered how cancer would paint the spring gardening season. I know it's not spring yet, but cancer let me play in the dirt today and erase some of what came with the temperatures of winter. It felt so good. The fall cleanup wasn't as complete as I would have liked. I'll add what's left of fall to spring clean up at some point.
Another place that got a bit of help was the little Hens and Chickens patch. The deer found them and made what I call a mess.
I think butchered is the word for this Hen.I like chicken also but who would have thought that the deer had that as a must eat during the winter. So, what was let got a little help and I think the Hens will be on their way to producing more chicks just as they should.
Some of these were pulled from the ground and left near by.
I would prefer the deer find another restaurant for their parties. And yes, there were deer tracks nearby.
I spent a good first hour with another physical therapist at three pm, This one works on strengthening the muscles that support the bladder. I hope this proves to be helpful. There will be six sessions to start with and more if necessary. I'm just working on keeping this body in good working condition. Age is not a help at all. The only benefit I can think it is helpful for are discounts. And I can't count many.
This will be one of the early bloomers. The flower is blue and will become something called Money Plant. Sorry! There is no real money. Just beautiful white paper looking discs. And hiding underneath is a Black Eyed Susan. It has got to go. Just another not needed spring surprise I found. Blue Money plant blooms the same time as yellow Calladine Poppies. Another great color combination.Well, a second day knowing that physically Wyatt is not with us. I would measure that at a tad better. Not more, just a tad. We had two wonderful German Shepherds and when the second one died. I said, NO MORE. It was just to hard to let them go. We probably missed out on some wonderful dog adventures, but living with a sorrowful heart that over time did heal was a process I chose to avoid. Life brings choices and we made that choice.
Bears Britches waking up. The Pussy Willow stems are getting ready to break out of their skins.Supper was great chicken veg with barley soup, Amish corn bread and apple sauce. I say Amish because we bought the c meal at Clare Michigan at an Amish grocery store run by Amish. Yes, there is such a thing. It's another evening with the needles again. They rested for most of the day. Tomorrow, there should be more Cranes. That means I'll be finding something fun to do outside. OOPS. if it doesn't rain. And there is church stuff to do at church.
