Friday
The day started early for Doug. PT 8 :45 am. Now early for me is 5 which happens more than I wish. Poor Doug.
There they are. Just as great as ever.It was filling the pill box day and that gets me through another 2 weeks. Done, finished, over! Then it was outside of course. And the herb garden was calling. I moved a volunteer hyssop plant to where there are now three hyssop plants. Two of them volunteers. They are yummy, iced tea makers producing additionally beautiful blue flowers. Then I made some changes making it easier to get to where I'll transplant Basel plants. Steppingstones is the answer.
The dark gray pot if filled with teeny tiny parsley. Some will be transplanted into the garden. Pots take so much more water than ground growers. There is a great stand of Tarragon behind the light gray pot.
And I got the Basel seed in the ground. I took apart the edging delineation of the herb garden and cleaned out what needed to go and replaced the delineation edging again. Woo. That took a lot of time with a lot of digging.
Top part finished. Bottom part of the picture to do.Then it was on to the cruddy path that leads from one garden to another. I had sprayed weed killer among the stone path which helped a lot loosening a lot of weeds but certainly didn't fix all the problems. My shoulder needs more ibuprofen again. But the job is finished when I get preen on the path.
Woo. So happy the digging is finished. I need to add a bag of pea gravel sometime soon. Mission almost completed.
I worked a little bit on the asparagus bed which I think will be fine regardless of the spraying guy. I did find two plants that I think will not make it. Nothing to fret about. I just might find something I like even better when plant shopping. The two sick plants have many other representatives at other places in the garden.
Neighbor Kathy was out in her garden, and we had another good talk.
I filled the car with things to take to church tomorrow we will use as visuals for Earth Day Sunday. A few rocks being one of the items. Then there was a morning nap at some point and an afternoon rest.
Tomorrow is soup kitchen day. One of our workers has Covid. Best for her to stay home for sure. So, we'll be doing our thing as well as covering for her. She will be missed for many reasons.
When clearing out some unwanted things from the herb garden I dug up two leeks adding them to the evening soup of chicken and chicken broth, barley, onions, and cabbage. Tonight is a PACER game. Woo, woo. Life can't get to much better for a lot of reasons. One small one is the Pacer distraction. Maybe that's a big one.
Peace and love and healing to you and the world. Love you bushels.
Your garden is beautiful! My garlic is just now poking up! (One raised bed is still under snow!)
