Saturday
Today, I'm done with rain. And I heard that's not going to happen. Done is not here yet. More is predicted but there might be a two-day reprieve next week. I'll take it. My goodness. How did the Noah family do it for 40 days. The animals might have kept them busy. So many places now are really green and filling with surprises. That happens when one is a bit forgetful. One of these days the front will move letting this rain move on.
Jack in the Pulpit. Maybe two this year. My friend calls it Jill in the Pulpit. Another North plant from Liz and Phil. There was thunder during the night, more than once or twice or three times. There were no walks in the garden for sure for most of the day. One might have needed waders. I would imagine White River has some interesting flooding. In past years I've taken field trips to bridges just for fun. I thought of that today. Thought was as far as I got.
The garden needs a lifeguard.
So, what happened today? For one thing if you guessed being inside, you were right. Yesterday was a ripping day. Today was a sewing day. Ten more burps were finished and 10 floor blankets also hit the finish line. Well, actually eleven to be exact. There is more fabric ripping in the not too distant future.
Cute mushrooms for floor blankets with a flannel backing.
The thread that was ordered yesterday appeared at the door sometime this morning. I did a little thread inventory and discovered I had more colored Gotermann thread than I thought. I realized that there was about a yard of white left on the spool and an empty bobbin. I checked the front door, and the six white spools ordered yesterday had arrived...I would say just in time.
There was a little knitting but not much. I needed a break from that routine.
Doug and I visited Lowes and chose the palm bushes we'll use for Palm Sunday and Easter. They are waiting in the garage till tomorrow. There is a guarantee that I'll have help getting the palms into the church. The new vehicle has no low area for tall things, so we bundled up the pot part with plastic bags, covered the back of the car with an old sheet and placed the plants on their sides. Not the best solution but transporting went fine. They did some rolling on the way home. I'll fix that for tomorrow's ride.
My neighbor's Sweet Pea. My peas have a way to go but I'm betting they will catch up.The rest of the day was pretty quiet maybe because I fell asleep. I thought about a fun trip to Goodwill but mustering the energy didn't happen. Goodwill reminds me of some garage sales with all the stuff in one place under roof, well organized.
Another recent movee looking pretty good.
I would say today felt like a 'sleepy' day. A day of energy saving. One of those days that comes along unexpectedly. This too shall pass. But let's hurry it up a bit. I would like a little variety in my living.
They have sleepy days - even in Australia!
