Sunday, Sunday
Finally, Sunday and it was a great day starting with the usual up and at 'em sort of thing. We did church and the second service was full, with people in the balcony. I think that's the first time since Covid. There was a lot of great music, liturgy and hymn singing. Families always come together for the day with many attending the church they grew up in. But there were plenty of first timers that were also welcomed. The plants reached to the end for gifting to visitors that wanted a reminder of the day. Two children got the bunnies. One receiver being my buddy, Logan. I brought a leftover plant home. There is always room for one more.
There was the expected nap to recharge and I spent some time planting the lg. pink Scabiosa purchased yesterday plus the smaller blue on that was not selected by anyone at church. The gardeners were not in attendance. I benefited.
I can always add to what I've done when the rain brings magic my way. The garden job never ends. I also transplanted some ground cover that will have more room to grow. One of the beds has been neglected for years with not a new of anything added for a while. It got some attention this afternoon.
A first time Jack ready to be in the pulpit soon. There will be tmore Jacks very soon. There were other checks on the garden with some squirrel holes filled in. There was basketball of course.
Later in the day we had supper with Eric and family with Kat's mom doing the cooking. I made a pie in the afternoon and much to my dismay I flipped the amount of oil and water for the crust.. It's 3/4 cup of oil and 1/4 cup of water. Not the other way around. It's been a while. Dear me. I'm really out of practice.
It looks great but it needs to be accompanied with a tooth warning. Now everyone will get to taste the crust my mother made. It was always hard and crusty. The filling still will satisfy everyone. Yummy brown sugar with lots of cinnamon.
I took few pictures today. You all have seen what the sanctuary looked like. But you got a little peak into some other stuff.
This is a spot where people pass by leading to the sanctuary.Tomorrow it's back to church to pack away just a tiny bit of Easter and prepare for next Sunday visually. The subject is carrying for the earth. The 22 of April has that designation. Then it's off to see Dr. Schneider. There is a lot to think about. A lot of things to talk about. That's good.
What a nice picture of the Eric Russell’s! The boys have certainly grown and matured. The parents look happy and proud!
ReplyDeleteI Agree. . . 'Twas good to know they made it! ! !
ReplyDeleteditto ditto on the Eric / Kat family. Yes, Noah looks older (i.e. more mature - ready to get ready for college or a suitable alternactive - is he going to head to Goshen, too?)
