Thursday

Since I spent the first 25 years of my life as an Ohio resident or in other words a Buckeye, a few years ago I thought I needed a Buckeye tree in my yard.  Well, the deer found that they loved to do a bunch of nibbling every year on my sweet tree.  So once again we'll see how we can keep this tree safe.  It will get a cage very soon. I think it looks like a 3 ft. bush instead of a tree.

Today was one of those little of this and that events.  The night was short, and it went well with the little of this and that day. Doug wanted me to take him to PT because he claimed he didn't know where the place was.  I said I knew but the truth is that I didn't know.  But then I did know.  I had rehab at the same place a couple of years ago where he is going.  I thought they had moved.  The windows have been covered, and I swore I saw an I U sign somewhere else.  Well, that was proven wrong.  So, Doug and I walked in right on the dot of 8:15.  First time visitors need to be early birds.  There are always papers to fill out.  Well, we blew this one.  Why his arm is what it is remains to be seen.  I just learned that it's numb and has been for some time. That kind of communication makes him a Russell for sure. Knowing his parents helps a whole lot.

When he was finished it was off to I U North for my shots.  That went well.  It's the same place Doug gets his B 12 shot, and the people know him well. Way to well.  He stayed downstairs while I went upstairs.  It was better that way.  His Scientific America kept him busy.  The upstairs nurses knew him even without a name.

After I U North we went on to Obers to pick up two kinds of palms for Palm Sunday.  Tomorrow we'll prepare the "adult" ones, wrap them in wet towels and take them to church Saturday when we work at B and Bowl.  They are in the garage now staying cool.  That's our cooler.  They will stay in the courtyard overnight Saturday ready for the Sunday parade.

Palm prep tomorrow

So that blew the whole morning with crazy diversions of many kinds.

The afternoon was full of the little of this and that also.  I walked the garden, finding and transplanting more bergamot.  It's very tiny now but there is a lot coming up.  I hope moving to a sunny spot helps to make it tougher and more beautiful.  I covered up some deer tracks and dug a few dandelion's and scraped up a little Charlie.  More asparagus is up but a little heat would be helpful.  With all the rain we had that flooded the garden, the lettuce has floated to other spots.  That's really interesting.

There is nothing quite as tasty as eating garden lettuce 10 minutes after one has picked it.  But I think we'll be waiting for a little while before that happens the spring of 2025.

I did more sewing but not quite as much as yesterday.  I managed to get pretty far along with floor blankets and could finish the fifth one if I gave it the old college try.  College was a long time ago, so the only thing left is the try.  I'll try tomorrow.

We had delicious apple salad with some honker walnuts for supper.  There could be chili tomorrow but that's far away right now. Doug moved Eric to Carmel and I stayed home with the blog.  There is a Pacer game tonight.  Whoopee!  Never a dull moment when the Pacers are flying across the court.
