Tuesday
Another cold morning in a string of cold mornings. One of these days that will not be true. Heat is something on the horizon. Something to look forward to. I'll be looking with binoculars.
This box was used once the first year it was on the tree. It's been for rent cheap for about 4 years. It's time to speculate on what really is happening.I did notice that the mother blue bird was in and out and then back in the b.b. house not to return to the outside. The male b.b. stayed close by. I noticed they were nest filling with pine needles a couple of weeks ago. My guess is that eggs are in the box but let's hope the babies stay put in their shell house for a while. There are very few bugs around for filling tummies.
It was another early morning, and I knitted until it got light. I read the blog always interested in others who are early readers, with the blog keeping the count. The morning felt blue. I'll blame the medicine. It's a known side effect. And to move me along I decided to go flower shopping, not to buy but to continue the search for something that looked good with a good price. Sue fills the altar vases each Easter at church. What a blessing for us but flowers in small pots are also on the altar for visitors. So, this morning I was off to Meijer's. Well, the cold got their plants, so things were looking a little sick, but the price was the best yet. And I'm sure new plants will be coming in. The Meijers on Keystone is also a possibility.
Then I decided to see what was going on at JoAnn's. It's been a very long while since I passed through her door. And what a revolution. There is still plenty to buy. Infact there are many boxes of yarn to unpack, and I was told there are trucks coming all the time with more stuff. That's crazy. There are discounts but for me, not enough. I would call it a common sale price. I walked everything more than once and picked up a few things like buttons and pins. I do need a scissors. I'll get that next time. Sometimes I think I'm finished sewing but then something new becomes a special delivery project.
I'm working on keeping it simple.I stopped at Goodwill on the way home and discovered a parking place right by the door. That's my sign of some good luck coming my way. The flannel sheet that was there three weeks ago was still hanging. And I found a cute, flowered sheet. There are more floor blankets in the future for Goodwill babies.
By noon the blue had turned to pink and yellow. I was feeling better. I felt that recognizing a purpose was back. The hope is that Larry, Curley, and Moe, my three Kisqali pills are focused on their job of keeping me on my feet. Kisqali is not my cure but should allow me to live longer.
So, the afternoon was spent ripping a whole lot of fabric after Doug had run them through the washing machine. So, the sewing drill has begun. That's a very good thing.
The flannel is ready waiting for the sheet to be ripped for more floor blankets.
There is always a period of time before a full body scan that is troublesome. They happen about every four months. One of those will happen a week from tomorrow, Wed. The scan tells us what the cancer is doing. The days before are anxious times if my mind is in control. Keeping the mind busy with good thoughts is helpful. I am aware the visual responsibility at North is pulling me through. I'm feeling pretty good. Have lost no weight and have a good appetite so it's often very easy to forget about cancer. But not when a scan looms ahead.
Supper was apple salad. We ate almonds instead of walnuts, but it was delicious with almonds. I did a walk around the garden with my coat zipped up tight. The gal. jug buddies will spend the night in the dining room again. They are looking very healthy which makes me happy. On the walk I noticed that the herd of deer have been though.
Tracks are in many places and because the ground was wet their imprints are deep. For the next walk I will carry the hoe to smooth out their tracks. Yes, it seems there was a herd. While walking the garden, found some more great volunteer plants. One is hyssop.
That's a favorite tea maker. I love to chew the leaves. I've found three volunteers this spring. Winter Savery is starting to perk up.
