Monday
It was a take it slow Monday morning. I snipped flowers for the table. I say they look a little pumpkiny. with orange. I did another larger arrangement with big grown-up zinnias for neighbor Kathy. There was a misty feeling in the air and eventually it did rain during the day. What a gift to the plants trying to make it through the fall. I rolled some chicken wire that wasn't needed any more. That was the extent of the morning garden work.
My guy of the garden Saint Fiacre with his shovel ready to work. When break time comes he has his Bible and birds. Such a smart gardener wearing his sun protection. He is to the garden as Saint Francis is to the animals. That is if I've got it right.10'o'clock rolled around and I made sure I had all the needed papers for the Living Strong program at the Y. I'll have a few more after seeing Dr. Schneider next Monday. There were 7 of us at the meeting with four returning folks and three newbies to start the program. It was a leisurely morning with just getting to know each other with some programs to help that along. At first, I was in the let's move this along on to the next thing but in time moved to a calming speed of just letting whatever happened, happened. There is something called control that does me in at times. We were asked to pick three picture cards that suggested something that brings joy to us, another that sustains us and the third where we want to be at the end of the term.
More things to dismantle but not yet. Fall work continues if it isn't raining.I chose a picture of basketball with the Fever bringing joy. The second with the Bible and a cross suggesting that I am sustained with everything church. The last picture was a girl ready to dive off a board that gave me thoughts of diving in to living as a goal.
Golden Rod a surprise yellow in the fall that seems so pure.It was home for lunch and eventually Doug and I returned to the Y in the afternoon for 30 minutes of walking for me. Doug does some walking and machines. The rest of the afternoon was not much and a lot of nothing.
Another roll-up. One more to go. When one has rabbits, one needs chicken wire. I wonder if there is rabbit wire for the chickens. I don't think so.Supper was soup made at the end of last week and the evening was full of football. The next Fever game is tomorrow as a late game. So, looking forward once again to a team of ladies who don't give up determined to make a difference for each other and their fans. A true inspiration for breast cancer ladies.
This was the sight just outside the window during the Colts game at the home of my friend Kathy. She thought perhaps there was someone there wanting to watch the game or even help out.My neighbor's dog Wylan was going crazy one night. Gina found the two mother deer with their combined number of 5 children near her front door. They all should have been in bed even though they love cruising at night. The dogs get a little noisy.
Thursday can't come soon enough. The better news is that I'm one day closer. I've been here before and I hope to be here again in six months even after Thursday. I learned whatever day one waits for; it does come every time.
