Monday
It was an early morning wake up, and I just went with it. There was sewing to finish and that happened. I looked up my IU portal and found the scan report. My interpretation was that the cancer seems to be pretty stable, much like the scan of 6 months ago. If that is confirmed by Dr. Schneider, I'll be floating somewhere on a cloud on a very sunny day with zinnias everywhere I look. The six months ago report was very, very good. Today's report seemed to echo that report.
While retrieving the Star, I confirmed two honeysuckle stumps remain to be pull. Two were pulled yesterday so the score is one to be proud of. There is an attempt to burn one stump out. The roots are big and deep. Keeping the fire burning is important. Destroying honeysuckle or other invasives with proof earned Gina a trade up to some noninvasive plant. The Hamilton County Green Team (my name) is making an effort to encourage the destruction of invasives found in the county, providing an acceptable replant. That's a very good thing. We'll be seeing some great hibiscus taking some empty spots lining Gina's driveway.
For the rest of the morning minutes available I did some flannel ripping getting another 30 some burps ready for sewing. I'm inching up to another 100. That's the next goal.
Around 11 o/clock we were on our way to the Simon Center for our meeting with Dr. Schneider. Yes, what I thought might be the case about the scan really was good news. There have been no upticks with cancer. In fact, the opposite continues to be the case with everything pretty much as they were with cancer staying put. Numbers have returned to where they should be and the Kisqali pills now number two a day instead of three. It's now Mutt and Jeff for three weeks. Larry, Curly and Moe have been retired. This reduction could help eliminate fast unwanted heart beats. So, I would say the news is very good with the expectations continuing in the same way. Dr. Schneider signed some releases for me to participate in the Y program. The visit with two of his nurses was another highlight of the morning. There was a whole lot to laugh about. They have become dear, dear friends.
It was time for a very late lunch. The body was tired, so it was off to Needlers to get one of their famous chicken meat pies made by daughter-in-law Kat. Supper can be provided in another way. I picked up some hotdogs and buns to cook over the fire Gina has set for stump burn out. There are bags and bags of charcoal burning in place. Gina persists, you know. Hot dogging was a hot job on a hot day.
Of course, long pants and a sweater top are not the coolest clothes to wear today. I wasn't lacking for a few charcoal hot cakes either. Gina provided.I added bacon to the cart for BLTs some time this week. So, we're set food wise for a few days. At least for supper.
I sat down to watch Nicole on MSNBC and of course my eyes didn't cooperate. There was a great sleep, probably making up for the three o'clock morning no sleep hours. So, with heated pie servings, a little great tasting coleslaw was added to the supper.
These pies are full to the top with rotisserie chicken. Yum, Yum.The evening was full of football and a sleep now and then to punctuate the game. Woo. I call today another wonderful gift that has brought unexpected surprises. Thanks be to God who is near.
I’m celebrating YOU and your “good news” tonight as I find rest, beauty, and peace while reading your blog! You lead me to find JOY in every day - today it was so easy!❤️❤️❤️
