Tuesday
Today started in the 5 am hour. But the night began around 10 last night so I had a few winks. I watched a little TV to start the day. It's not necessarily a good start but that's the way it is these days. It was a dark morning and one that probably will be repeated more than once this week.
I enlarged a section of Susan's mandala and you might be able to see more detail. There is a lot of twill work.I checked my computer mail and found a note from Darren sending an essay he had read for his doctoral studies called "O for a heart to praise my God" Hymning the Self Before God. E. Byron Anderson.
I printed it off and decided that I would take it with me on a walk around the block. Reading while walking was a bit tricky with me on every side of the road during that process. The traffic was lite. When I got to the park I sat on a picnic table seat and finished the essay. I call it a good read and one about hymns and music and one that spoke a lot of, I agrees. That sort of took care of the morning adding a little more time on the chair.
There was a morning with a Michigan Russell tumbler of coffee topped with French Vanilla Creamer. Yum, yum! Kimmy has taught me about FVC.The butterflies were busy as could be with the Monarchs way to full of flight to sit for a picture. The two should be on their way very soon. We have humming birds. The word is to keep sugar water available for the migrators.
There was lunch and I felt the need to stay busy and focused on something. So back to the Y for more walking and listening to most of Brahams Requiem. What a majestic piece of music, one that I've sung and hummed along with today. Thank goodness the Y wasn't busy with most treadmills empty. No one near enough to hear.
Black and Pink go together! It was back home again and staying focused mode took me to two Goodwills on Michigan Rd. finding flannel at each one with a price I approved of. So, two sheets came home with me. But before I arrived at home base I stopped at Kat and Erics to pay for food tickets and concert tickets we will use at the Goshen Home Coming in a few weeks. The sheets are being washed and ready for burp tearing one of these days.
The afternoon brought the black Swallowtails. They are a little more settled. so I got some pictures. One in mid-flight.
Did you spot the butterfly in the middle of the picture just above the orange zinnia? I'm thinking where's Zinnia instead of Waldo. The last fat caterpillar is now a chrysalis. There is one in the nursery. That's it.Then it was on to the blog seat to do some recording of the day's events before forgotten.
I listened to TV Nicole and then another supper with soup, applesauce and red beets from a jar. Tonight is a late Fever game. Why do they do this to me? I'm not a late person and it would be great if they got on to my schedule. Maybe it's a coffee night.
Thanks for the close-up - the twilling is really nice - and now I understand what contributed to the intrique of the whole mandala. Also, here is another way to use your vanilla creamer: begin with a small paper 2-ounce cup - fill half with vanilla creamer and half with orange juice. It is yummy - like an orange Julius. I start my day with this - it wakes me up. Also, I have mixed the vanilla creamer with cranberry - it is like the lassi you can get in Indian restaurants. Mango lassi, yum yum. No Indian restaurants for me - so I invent more at home!
