Tuesday

A nice ending to an interesting day.  Fresh flowers are always refreshing.

I woulad call this a little crazy day.  Meaning the unexpected was part of the morning.

But first...

A great night of sleep again thinking it was six o'clock when it really was seven.  Now an extra hour of sleep never hurt anyone.  There was breakfast of course with a little TV. Yesterday I finished sewing and turning 30 burps, so the order of the morning was to iron all of them with top stitching in mind at some point. And there was time to iron all 30.

I did some straw flower seed saving.  It's a repeat of last fall that worked well this spring.

Then it was off to church to pick up and put away all the things that supported the six weeks of sermons on prayer.  I love these little workdays when there is time to talk with friends just about anything while working on the goal of the morning.  And that was accomplished along with hanging a few banners.

Fountain Grass.  OOPS.  Something happened to the fountain.  I think it was a place to sleep for ?

Then came the unexpected.  The word was it was time to clean out a big closet full of this and that once used for decorating.  And Julie and I did the unexpected clean out.  Being in a church for almost 60 years has taught me that people don't like to throw things away.  Someone might use what was thought to be important.  Well, that doesn't work.  The stuff just accumulates, and the piles grow higher and higher. And with the long stay at this church, working on almost every committee and more, its pretty clear to me what to keep and what to pitch.  So, we moved things from the closet to where they could be use.  That was the unexpected BIG JOB taking a lot of time.  But it's finished!  There is one more big closet to go.

Then home with a short stop at Aldi's for my lunch stuff.  The body almost couldn't wait for the chair.

A fall planting of "lettuce".  Advertised as being a variety of greens was not the case.  Bummer.
They will stay uneaten by people.  So far, they even are not deer or rabbit food.

I made some phone calls and received a desperate call from a friend about newly ripped NEW pants.  I said I'll get it fixed.  Don't worry, don't fret.  The world will lose some of its charm.  I often heard this from a next-door neighbor about 80 years ago.  He was about 80 when he told me this more than once. It's stuck with me for a very long time. Yup...almost 80 years. I hope the rip is fixable.

The two rogue caterpillars received fresh parsley for munching.  They are slow growers for sure.

Fresh and green and a lot of it.  Now I can't seem to find the caterpillars.  I know they are in there.

Then it was plastic bag time, opening 180 bags making life a little easier as we pack meals at church for taking home.  It's a sit-down chair job.  One I needed after the morning work.

Bird feeders were filled and once again it's starling time.  We see them in the morning but not often in the afternoon.  I think we should think about just doing an afternoon feed!

Supper time and time to finish the blog.  I may do a few more bags.  Planning ahead is a good thing.

Planning  to clean out the Blue Bird House.  Yes. Planning ahead for next spring.                                  B Birds are the best little nest builders choosing if possible to build with pine needles.

  1. Accumulating stuff because you never know when it might be needed - ah, ah, my childhood all over again! AND, monastic life as well - there are so many nooks and crannies in this big place that stuff can hang around fo decades. Fortunately, Br. Chaminade is good at trashing things - he saves what he needs for the archives and then fills up giant trash containers to be hauled away.
