Friday
To answer a comment from yesterday. Knitting usually keeps me awake. It has about a 95% track record. But I never turn away the need for a little sleep break.
And as you might imagine, the day started with a new scarf with new yarn. My daughter-in-law, Kat has two really good church friends. They have traveled miles together with their toddlers now college age kids. Two of the three are purple lovers. They got their purple scarves at least a year ago. The scarf on the needles has sort of a burnt orange look. The third friend loves orange. So, the burnt orange look is something I like and I think will finish the tri scarf project. New yarn is fun.
The birds were fed and the 8:30 attempt to retrieve the paper failed. Sometimes we just don't get a delivery. Not often but it happens. But happy to say Doug found the paper later.
As the morning warmed, I pulled out the garden cart giving some attention to all that was dug yesterday. The cannas were washed and pulled apart and then washed again leaving them to dry in the sun. The dahlias also received some attention with one returned to Kathy, the DALIA queen. I left Kathy's on her poach table. All of the above took some energy from the bucket.
I returned to the chair to fill the bucket and more knitting happened.
Doug had his annual appointment with his heart doctor so he was off to Saxony. That's one long drive so I left him on his own to make the drive and visit. I expect nothing new from that event. And that was the case.
I took a long and warm walk around the block so happy to be back home. Then there was the usual November event of blowing leaves out of the garage. The cannas seem to be drying well but I'm giving them more time. I don't want to find a rotting mess next spring.
Then it was back to the chair again with more knitting and more bucket filling. I think if I had a smaller bucket to fill it might be a little easier to fill. Of course it would run out faster. There never is a winning strategy at my age. I treated myself to one of those rolls made a few days ago. It got a microwave zap and was delicious. Woo, woo!
There was a quick supper. Doug did an Eric pickup, moving him on to Carmel from Broad ripple. I stayed home getting the canna into the garage to do a little more drying tomorrow. The evening was quiet with another 10:30 bed time planned. That's about my limit most nights.
