Saturday

There was nothing on the calendar today, so I guess the choice of what to do was up to me.  Woo, woo.

I am going to list a few choices. Sewing, Y, shopping, library.  What will it be? Oops...Not the Y.   It's one of the busiest places on any Saturday.  Walking around the block would be a good substitute. Shopping Goodwill's would be the first choice on the list.  I LOVE the hunt.  It can go on for a long time and all over the north side of Indy.  I can get to ten stores easily.  That includes Noblesville, Westfield and Zionsville. Do I want more fabric for burps? Yes.  Do I need more burps? No.  200 are waiting to be delivered. 50 more are in the pipeline.  I need another sewing project or perhaps another organization that works with babies and families. Either would do.  Do I need another hobby.  Probably so.

Now that November is here, I need to begin thinking Georgia.  Some things are the same, but I'd like to do something different for food.  We'll see if that really happens.  There could be stuffed peppers.  How about some beef potpies. There is always turkey and corn and pie and sloppy joe sandwiches. How many meals do we need? Tomorrow is another zoom but I'm expecting unanswered questions.

Well, the choices of the day turned out to be something entirely different.  Late morning I took a walk to the neighbors.  Brian told me some time ago that he was a computer geek.  I'm not sure he used those words. Since the phone was going crazy, I thought I would start there.  Fix in 5 minutes.  I mentioned computer and he said bring it over.  He had an hour to give me.  So, following directions he got the computer and fixed it in short order.  Woo.  no more frayed nerves at this house.  My mental health has returned to normal, whatever that is.  So, with gratitude, I delivered an apple pie ready for the oven or perhaps the freezer waiting for Thanksgiving. If eaten today, I would be happy to offer another one later in November.  There should be blog pictures tonight thanks to Brian. Now forget everything I wrote about pictures. Some things are much better, but we haven't made a landing.  When I went back to the computer around 3...the picture problem was back. One way or the other we'll get this fixed.  I think I'll retrace my steps back to Brian.

And the other Sat. choice I made was to watch football.  No. 1 Ohio State and Penn and friend Cleveland Nancy and I were texting back and forth.  What fun.  Pictures were flying.  Then comes No. 2 Indiana.  It's a pretty good afternoon when No 1 and 2 are not playing each other but both on TV.  Now when they play each other in the Big 10 tournament...that's a different thing. Both teams came through again.  Nothing new for Ohio folks. It's something different for Indiana folks.

This afternoon I tackled something I was having a lot of trouble with last winter. I knitted a lot of scarves last winter and then forgot how to do the putting together part.  It just left my mind completely after trying more than once or twice or more.  Today I got the scarf out again and after trying different things, I found the solution and finished the scarf started last winter.  I'm ready to make more having a lot of yarn purchased when JoAnn's was going out of business.  Something new again is a good thing.  Mission accomplished!

I would like to add that the weather has been exceptionally nice.  Usually by Halloween we've had frost with a lot of rain that has knocked the leaves from the trees, perhaps even snow adding up to winter coat time.  Well, none of that has happened and today was sweater weather at the most.  It has made for a long beautiful fall that has been wonderful. The days are in the high 50's with next week a few days predicted to be even warmer.  At one time we called that Indian Summer.  Why?  Beats me where that came from.  But Indian Summer it was.

So the day has been interesting.  A little of this and that.  And more to do as time allows.  Tomorrow is the  All Saints Day celebration at church.  One of my favorite Sundays asking us to remember those have become part of the saint world.  It is my honor to say thank you for the inheritance that came through those who have touched our lives and earned sainthood.

And tomorrow evening is another family zoom meeting with those still with us.
