Sunday
Last night as you all know was fall back time. And I did that. I also think the Blue Jay's were blown to the next planet. That homerun with the pitcher designated batter I think sent a hurricane north and the birds fell right out of the tree losing their footing. Bummer, bummer. It was a seven-game series of hard played baseball. When they went into extra innings I went to bed and heard the report this morning. It's over and done. The Pacers won last night and today the Colts were positioned to win but they didn't. All things come to an end. But never need to stay there.
So it was knitting this morning with another bow tie scarf off the needles this afternoon. I'm checking with Ginny to see if her baby mothers could use a scarf. They are piling up. The sewing machine got a well-deserved rest. Then it was off to church a few minutes earlier than some Sundays. I'm adding books to the book give away. Hannah will get a lot of quilting/sewing books. I know she will use them. She is a quilter.
Doug left me off at the door and I noticed something was a little goofy with my shoe. Well, the whole soul came off and I was limping around with a crazy shoe and a regular shoe. I said I lost my soul, so I needed to attend the service hoping to find my soul again. Uck, uck! Eventually I abandoned both shoes and just went with my black socks which no one noticed. When I got home, I got the 6000 glue out. We'll see how that goes. I love my Clarks. They are old as you might have guessed but I still want to ware them.
The morning service was so meaningful with wonderful music to set the theme of remembering the Saints who were once with us. It always brings those watching from home back to church. I wish that would always be the case. The attendance is always bigger than usual. The whole church community worshiping together is a missing element for me. There were lots of prayer candles lit.
We spent a little time cleaning up after church. Heidi will work tomorrow getting the sand back in the buckets and the bowls stored ready for next year. I have the bees wax prayer candles here and will work on them making them usable for next year. We need to order more having used most of the new ones today. We bought 2 boxes that have lasted for 5 or more years. It's time to purchase more.
Patty stopped by this afternoon. She is working on another chasuble for the communion celebrant. This time a purple one not needed till Lent. She is attaching some cross stitch work done by Marcia L.
The day seemed a little cooler, and the trees still have their beautiful leaves, and the flowers continue to bloom. Tis a rare thing for this time of year starving off the blowing cold we usually see the first of November. The first part of the week should see some warmer days.
And yes, the bow tie neck scarves will move to Genny along with more burps. I am concerned about food for the families she and others serve who are on SNAP. Filling in the gap is a must.
