Thursday

Thursday all day. Woo.  I woke up this morning with my mind, stayed on Jesus.  Well, now maybe I can do that after going around a few bends in the road.  Maybe it was more like stayed on church.  A lot needed to happen today in that space so the first thing to do was make a list.  And the list was a little long but interesting.  Breakfast and pills and then I worked on knitting just a tad.  I stuffed the knitting in my bag thinking there might be time at church to knit but the time never appeared.

A phone call to Novartis to clear up some medication questions materialized. I was unable to get to the correct person with the  assurance that I would get a call back.  I've given that problem to Novartis. It's not mine anymore.

I was off to Lowes to pick up pink poinsettias for church.  Done. Another thing scratched off the list.  Soon after arriving home. it was time again to get on the road, stopping first at R and Bs with turkey soup and retrieving some food holders for Bread and Thursday all day. I was off to Lowes to pick up pink poinsettias for church.  Done. Another thing scratched off the list.  Soon after arriving home. it Bowl fixed with the necessary labels.  R attaches the labels. We had a quick chat, and I was back on the way to church. The list for church included cookies, napkins and candy, those important things for the first of four nativity viewing times.  Things got to where they needed to go and the first group arrived near 9:45.

Heidi and I began our Dog and Pony show which really went well for all the groups that filtered through.  I think we had near 12 people and that was enough for us newbies to begin this gig. I got the morning started and then Heidi took on her responsibilities.  She had a lot of details about some of the nativity sets that kept the morning interesting for all.  Blessings on her.  The folks stayed as long as they wished, some returning to places they wanted to view again.

And yes, there were cookies along with a lovely ornament given to our visitors.  Some chose to participate in the scavenger hunt that Linda M had prepared.  I would say it was a new experience that was fun for those that came and fun for the Dog and Pony. This will continue next Thursday from 10 to 1.  We added an evening event from 6 to 7 next Thursday. And last but not least, the third Thursday of December from 10 to 1is our last designated time.  I found it was a wonderful way to make new friends who had similar interests in a space filled with nativities, memories of the birth of the Christ child.

Then the car and me in it drove north again.  I skipped one planned Thursday job while on the road that can happen on Sunday. And the afternoon, filled with memories of the morning and a body still alive with energy was with me.  Blessings come in many ways.  This was another one of those ways.

As the afternoon ended the energy bucket seemed to develop a hole.  Supper happened with the last of this week's Turkey soup, still as delicious as ever. Over washing the dishes who should appear but our neighborhood herd meaning two deer appeared sniffing the grass. I suppose looking for food.  They were an interesting pair to watch.  I think it was a mother with a late teenager.  Interesting to watch for sure. Doug did the honors of moving Eric on home.

Just visiting.  That's fine when the yummies in my garden are gone.  Visit all you like.                      That is if you leave the trees alone.

So, the day was interesting with a new flavor, just like ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.  I need to dream about the ice cream.  The cookies were real.  Yum, yum. Tomorrow morning, I must be on my way at 8:10 for the shots I missed on Wednesday.  I think the number of years under my belt led to more mind troubling unrest about forgetting three important shots than was entirely necessary.  Today, thinking of the biblical story when Jesus said...Take up your bed and walk.  There are times when one needs to let go so one can carry on where needed. My goodness...what a lesson to keep relearning. Moving shots.  Not a big deal unless one lets it be big.

I spent the rest of the day thinking through the morning, resting what needed to be rested wondering how we could do better when the next visit attempt is made.
