Friday
The morning started early again. That was fine because I had an 8:20 appointment at IU North. My last appointment for shots was forgotten a month ago with a rescheduling. Yikes. I did not want to do that again. Better up early than not at all. There was breakfast with a few stitches with yarn taken. Paper retrieved. Doug was happy and then off to see my friends that have two shots waiting for me. There were folks in the waiting area, all for a host of reasons all cancer related. The holidays tend to mess up schedules. The desk folks shuttled folks on to where they were expected. Kathy, my great desk lady greeter friend was off to her own cancer treatment on the second floor this morning. My little friends are back. I prefer these to the real thing when they want to live inside.
When finished, I went on to Aldi's. Yes, Aldi's this time for Garbanzo Beans. Roasted for 30 minutes with olive oil drizzled on them in a 275 oven makes them a top protein snack. So good and nutty tasting. At 75 cents a can it's a real bargain for snacking. Some might like to add salt. I added celery seed to the last can. Doug liked them!
The rest of the day just happened. Of course, there was bird watching with meal worms added to the noon B Bird meal. Yesterday I saw one BB at the feeder. Today that increased to four. Woo, woo. The menu must be just what they ordered. The word has been passed. Bird bath water was thawed, and all seemed to be well in the bird world.
Just outside the window sitting on the peanut dish. Yummy meal worms and a few other goodies. I'm not afraid to say that B Birds are the favored ones.Andrew stopped by to do some computer and iPhone teaching. I think I'm on the electronic disability's spectrum. Chocolate Chip Cookies appeared somewhat mysteriously in the kitchen in honor of the visit. I've never known a boy who could say no to C C C's. Being the older boy, Doug was quite happy with Andrew being the bigger part of the twosome.
Sort of a payment thing. My brain is still whirling with the I U win. This morning my nurse claimed not to know a thing about football and I U. Impossible, but I guess possible. She's an Indiana Wesleyan grad and can care less about football. I guess that makes a difference. Having gone to bed early, I missed the switch to a win for Old Miss. I thought for sure it would be Georgia. So, we're set for the next round. I U, Oregon and Old Miss, Miami. IU had a win over Oregon earlier in the year. It's time for a repeat.
This picture seems to have gotten very big. There was some fun texting with the Michigan family keeping up with what is swirling around them. Jared is moving toward wellness. Not quite there but very close. The kiln will be unloaded probably by tonight. Then another load will begin another final firing. Then comes pottery picture taking and posting online. Then comes sending boxes to people choosing some beautiful pottery. It's been another good pottery season. Kimmy keeps the wheel busy. Jared wishes he could. but another job calls him.
I heard that Kimmy's niece is quite happy with a bunch of crocs sent her way. I bought them at a neighborhood auction a few years ago. Now it's better to move them on knowing that my balance goes crazy when wearing them. Balance help starts next Tuesday. It's hard work. I've been there and done that. And it's time to do it all over again. Uck.
I call this an easy day. No big projects. Just a day in the life of the Russell's. I have some iPhone learning to remember. Andrew is an awesome teacher and fixer! Remembering for me is a bit of a challenge these days. Keeping it simple is my rule.
