Monday

Sleep was a bit sketchy last night.  I finally gave up and met the chair around five.  Not such a good thing but that happens more than I wish.  A little of the usual happened and by 8 I was off to church for a morning of work.  Yesterday's nativity wrap was the event that said it was time for more clean up put away work.

The first thing needing attention was getting things ready for Dot and her grandsons.  She worked with them for about 1 1/2 hr. collecting things on two big carts.  There were angels, greenery, ribbons and more through-out the first floor of the church and the job was completed ASAP with great care.  They were great help and then were on their way for more Monday experiences.

Darren shared his ideas with me for next Sunday's service.  That needed some good visual attention and by the end of the morning all was in place for the coming service. Our baptismal vows are part of that second, sometimes third Sunday service of the new church year.

Heidi worked long and hard to get this bright blue color.  I think it's beautiful. Shells and water.                                  A symbol of baptism. A dove descended. This is my beloved Son.                                                                                 I think the bird needs a bit of redirecting.

Then it was back to work finishing up what needed to ready stashing away of many items to end the Christmas season. Even though the early thought was easy girl, it wasn't easy.  The house is big, and we use every bit of space.  I walked out the door after 4 hours of moving here and there around 12:30 with a body that needed a big rest. 16 banners were rehung in the closet.  At least that many angels were collected. The gathered nativities were made ready for the trip to the attic packed correctly in their drawers. Ribbons were wrapped. Christmas Eve Candles were packed and stored for another year. Five o'clock service props were gathered just to name a few of the jobs completed. Many new decisions were made and the mind was busy every minute.

A larger than most of our banners that hasn't been used for quite a while depicting water.                                                                             The pitcher is a beautiful blue.

When arriving home, Doug took the car for its first check up and I had lunch and then the chair for the rest of the day.  It was sleepy time for me which kept coming in waves.  Finally, around four gr. beans, potatoes, onions and ham came into focus, and the pot was filled assuring me that supper would happen.  Woo it was a day that included people and things. We could have used a few more people. We had plenty of things. But we persevered. The church is ready for January and more with a different look.  We've made a new beginning. As my mentor Doris often said...Keep it fresh.  I give it my best, Doris.
