                                                    More Memories.  How could I forget.

Today was a knitting day.  The TV was on good music.  NO Greenland, Denmark, Venezuela, Minnesota Sex Scandal, Putin or Trump., just music and needles.  I bought some yarn a few months ago that I really didn't like.  It was slippery to handle.  Today I decided to try knitting that yarn again.  It really wasn't as bad as I had remembered. A couple of more hours and I can put another scarf in the finished basket.  

Another "amusement" was watching the birds.  It really wasn't very amusing most of the time, maybe maddening. Starlings and B. Birds both wanting to eat meal worms and me trying to outdo the Starlings.  IMPOSSIBLE.  I'm looking into a cage that surrounds a feeder that only small birds like B Birds can fit through. Wild Birds has had them.  Some are found online but look like they might not work.  I was in and out with peanut/mealworms feeders.  One of these days I'm going to try another bird feeder arrangement. It was COLD today.  Bitter cold when the wind took off.  

The Y was open this morning but closed this afternoon.  MLK Day.  I skipped this morning. W Birds was open and we visited in the afternoon looking to see what they had.  The peanuts needed to be restocked here so two bags came home.  The rest of the food is in good supply. Out of luck for cages.  guess folks were after their Starlings before me.  They will call when the new supply arrives.  So, I spent more money but saved twice as much as I spent on a few things for Christmas gifts.  75% off will do that on the items I chose. 


                                            Now, wouldn't this look good somewhere in the yard?

Then it was back home to the kitchen.  Tonight is meatloaf with some twice cooked potatoes.  Yum, yum.  Cook them first and then fry them second.  

Of course, the evening entertainment will be the I U Football game with Miami.  NOTHING else is being televised.  Let's pray it's a great game.

Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

Amazing Saturday

 For many reasons it has been an amazing day.  One to remember as long as memory allows me.   Once again sleep did not stick with me, so I was once again out of bed around 1 last night.  I thought of checking the IU Portal for whatever it was going to tell me.  And it did a lot of talking about the scan that happened Wednesday.  The Easter portal news is that all cancer related things seem to be pretty stable with even some slight improvement in one area. Ever so slight but that still is great news.  So. for now, I feel like the stone has been rolled away and new life is with me.  Thanks be to God.  So back to bed and I slept till 6.  I'll take it with Thanksgiving.  Breakfast came and the clock proved it was time to leave for Church to get a jump on Easter visuals before the crew arrived.                 New members Hannah and Andrew working in the chapel with the lamb and...

 Back home again in Indiana.  That's where we were arriving late afternoon yesterday after a wonderful time with Jared, Kimmy and the grandsons adding Kimmy's many relatives to our visit.  It was just what I needed.                                                         Happy times but good grief.  What's with the hair, girl?      We arrived late at the Jared/Kimmy Russell home Thursday afternoon again rediscovering family again along with many free-range chickens, three cats, joe, the horse, three ducks four ewes and Eli's sheep for this year's 4-H entry.  Numerous goldfish would join us later in the week.       This is Eli's friend Hope holding renamed Barb because her nest was found hidden in the rhubarb.             ...
