Saturday

Before we get to the day, you might need a reminder.  And if you don't, that's OK also.

This came to me from son Eric.  Don't throw snowballs if this doesn't fit your mood.

Well, I would say today was an eventful day.  I hope they keep coming.  It was church soup kitchen day.  An event that goes by many names.  So off to church at 8 am again.  Tasha was back again to open the door.  Her mother died unexpectable the day after Christmas.  It was good to see her.

Maybe you will like this picture better.

And then the trouble began.  For a reason I just didn't quite understand there were no three pans of food to heat and  three pans of food to send home.  I looked everywhere and NOPE.  Eventually I heard they were sent back to where they came from on Thursday. It sort of felt like a round peg in a square hole morning.  I did find six pans in the freezer there for an emergence that were left over full pans from other meals.  So out they came with a trip to the oven hoping three would thaw in time to serve at 11 o'clock and three would thaw enough to pack into the to go bags.  They did!  Woo.  Mission accomplished again.  There were a few uneasy moments wondering why.

                                                    We need these summer reminders.

The crew was small but they all knew what needed to be accomplished so it was a busy bee time.  I was back on the road at 12:20.  Dishes washed, things put away, refrigerator cleaned out eliminating the scientific experiments.

Friend Heidi washing dishes.  At times we were both at the sink washing.

Time to eat when arriving home and then it was chair time, watching basketball.  Well, that sounds good but I didn't see much ball.  Doug took a trip to the R W shoe store and found out that the options he once had concerning his shoe choices just don't exist anymore.  In the meantime he's wearing his last pr. of Red Wings and he'll need to explore more options.

This has been with me through many hard experiences.  Maybe it will help you also.

We made a trip to Aldi's thinking the cart would not be full, but it held more than I was thinking it would. Doug is such a good help at the store.  I love taking him and am grateful for that help.  He's super, duper good about stashing things at home as well.  What a joy to have him with me.

The afternoon entertainment was some basketball with a Purdue win against Penn State and then football came along with the L A Rams and Carolina.

Knitting continues slowly with attention to hands when they need a rest.  So that was the day.  Just another ordinary one with a little stress, a little goodness that just makes a typical day happen again.
