Tuesday

 Today was another interesting day.  There are so many.  The morning started with all the regular morning stuff.  That never changes very much.  By 8:45 I was on the way to church.  This time Mary was working at the front desk.  She had directions for knitting the Norwegian Red Protest Hats now being knitted protesting ICE. That was a challenge I wanted to take.  After a good visit I went on to Heidi's house with a hat she had ordered from Mary's friend.  And there was another good visit with Heidi and James.  Now good visits are a wonderful way to start the day.  On the way north I snaked my way through a neighborhood getting familiar again with an area that Rita and I will be visiting tomorrow early afternoon.  

Home for a few minutes and then to the Y.  I skipped the strengthening class and went right to the treadmill for more than a mile walk finishing up at the NuStep.  Ear plugs in place brought more Schubert.  I love it.  A mile happens very quickly when one is carried on the wings of music.  

Speaking of wings.  The Blue Birds have once again been entertaining us.  The crowd continues to be in the 12 to 15 number with the menu offering bringing them right in to where we can see them. 

Home for a few more minutes and Andrew walked in.  We talked iPhone, and computers, Andrew fixing stuff and answering questions.  I'm just a little smarter but there are times I wonder where stuff I once knew went.  I would imagine the same place all my reading glasses have gone.  I'm down to one pair now.  The five in the latest group are some place, perhaps happy to be left along.  Next month I see the eye doctor.  I'm sure he will say..."You need glasses that stay on your face".

Then the knitting began with red yarn as well as some new yarn for another bow tie neck scarf.  Supper happened as usual and tonight Indiana plays B.B.  The day happened almost as usual with a little of this and that.  Tomorrow, I have another 3 month visit with my primary doctor.  Those come around just like all the others do.  I'm well cared for.  Never fear.  And yes, I got another one.

 Back home again in Indiana.  That's where we were arriving late afternoon yesterday after a wonderful time with Jared, Kimmy and the grandsons adding Kimmy's many relatives to our visit.  It was just what I needed.                                                         Happy times but good grief.  What's with the hair, girl?      We arrived late at the Jared/Kimmy Russell home Thursday afternoon again rediscovering family again along with many free-range chickens, three cats, joe, the horse, three ducks four ewes and Eli's sheep for this year's 4-H entry.  Numerous goldfish would join us later in the week.       This is Eli's friend Hope holding renamed Barb because her nest was found hidden in the rhubarb.             ...

Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

 With a good sleep to start the day, I was ready for whatever would come my way.  So, it was breakfast, the paper, a garden walk and more.  And there was a whole lot more.                                Th ese wood chips brighten my day.  A super reuse of a wonderful old friend. I was off to Quilt Quarters for yellow and green batik to add to the stole making.  And the morning was spent with the fabric cutter and the sewing machine.  I was on a roll but there were other plans for at least part of the morning.  A neighbor's tree down the road fell on the power lines and the electricity was no more.  So that meant the sewing machine didn't work.  It isn't the treadle type machine, you know. So, I did what I could meaning cutting more fabric for a bit .                        ...
