Friday
Good sleeping happened. I was ready for the day. So, here comes the rest of the story or at least most of the story. That is if I can remember. There were the usuals I mentioned yesterday. But one big difference was the addition of the wind. It almost blew me to West Field getting the paper. Impressive to say the least and that stayed with us all day. Sometimes it was pretty scary.
About six months ago I did a lot of plastic bag preparation for carry out lunches at church. The supply was running very low with just 60 bags left. Enough for the coming Saturday. So...More bags came out and a lot of time was spent opening plastic bags that will get us through most of June. It's those little things like opening bags that go a long way in making our Saturday work twice a month just a little easier. That is finished for a while.
300 bags ready to go. That's a lot of carry out meals.I decided it was time to tackle the milk or water jug project. That meant doing a little dirty work. One jug is now ready to incubate zinnia seeds tucked away in good dirt in a warm house.
Cut the jugs thru the middle to make a hinged lid.
The dirt was cold but I turned on the warming burner on the stove, and those little seed think the sun has warmed the soil to start the sprouting and growing process. Fingers crossed of course. Living Strong folks want to do the same project.
I made a run to Ace Hardware for more potting soil and seeds. Then to the drugstore for meds for me. Line trucks were along the way fixing electric lines where trees had been felled by the wind. It felt dangerous to be outside. I wanted to plant lettuce and parsley this afternoon. The ground was prepared but still felt more than cold. I'll wait till next week with the hope it will be a tad warmer.
Lunch came along and then it was Big Ten Basketball. Mich. came through over Ohio State. Once again, my Ohio friend Nancy and I were texting back and forth. I'm looking for Michigan to be UCLA.
I had cancer medication questions and called my dear friend Julie, Dr. Schneider's nurse. She didn't have answers but knew who would, so I got a return call from Kallie with all the answers I needed. This cancer team has been wonderful with answers at the right time. Next Thursday is the next six-month Pet Scan that will give us the current cancer information. Then more blood work on the following Monday and a follow up tell all visit with good Dr. Schneider. I'm feeling great. Let it be so!
So, the rest of the day was spent with basketball, and the knitting started all over again. The first inch is the hardest. That's about 8 rows. I have three rows completed so far. I'm on the way but wish I was farther along.
Another interesting day in so many ways. I think the wind is moving on to another place. Enough for today and a while.
