Monday

Today's flowers are wishful thinking surrounded with hope this summer the garden will surpass last summers.  That's really wishful thinking. I'm good at that. Now where did I put last summer's left over seeds?

The start of another week is what I call Monday even though there is a Sunday that comes before.  Someone else planned this week thing.  There was a decent amount of sleep last night.  I like decent.  All the morning stuff happened and there is a lot of stuff, believe me.  I watched a little TV.  The big surprise for me was snow.  I knew there was some predicted but I guess I just didn't believe or remember that was a possibility.
Praying these little friends will be back with us.  They usually appear in August if they are stopping by.

This morning was Living Strong again.  I was early so I did the NuStep.  I like that little machine.  There is less chance of falling off of it then some other things.  The Treadmills were all full.  Once again I noticed how noisy early morning folks are.  So the ear plugs went in and Schubert played in my ear.  That was more pleasurable then weights falling and loud voices. I saw another North member giving a wave as I rode my way to Kokomo and back on the NuStep.

A little green is beginning to show up.  There needs to be a lot of green.  And then I must remember...they are the best deer food ever.  Big Bad Bummer.

At 10;30 it was LS meeting.  We visited for a while and then off to the sweat room for a little of this and that.  I got at Treadmill and walked through South America again this time with Mozart's Requiem which I missed yesterday afternoon at 4 at St. Paul's Episcopal church. I sang that piece with Bob S. directing years and years ago.  Once in my head it never leaves.

One can NEVER have too many zinnias.  Here are two of many that were planted in the garden 2025

Then home for lunch with a break and then to Hobby Lobby for red yarn for red hat for a protest creations.  Craig's is on the needles.  It will be a while in the making since the current repeat is 132 stitches. A scarf repeat is 20 stitches.  I discovered tiny fairy land pieces while snooping around.  I could add them to my very few pieces I have for the garden.  I left them all on the shelf.

Butterfly Weed.  The Monarch lay their eggs on this plant.                                                              When hatching their tiny babies have something to eat.  A must for Monarchs.                                             The color orange is a must for my garden.  It's another good Oriole color.

Home again starting a red protest hat that had it oregin during World War Two in Norway knitted and worn to show the Natzi's Norway was not happy with their occupation.  Now worn against the ICE movement.

There are miles to knit before I sleep.  Well, maybe not miles.  It just seems that way.

Later in the afternoon I tackled the recreation of soup.  For a very dumb reason, thinking the soup would be better with a store-bought packet of seasoning, pot of great vegetable soup became way to salty to eat.  Uck.  This afternoon I washed all the vegetables by running water over them and draining them, adding new onions and better than bullion.  I reheated everything and delicious soup happened once again.  I guess we are not the salt of the soup. That last sentence was a real stretch!

The ever-faithful Hibiscus.  Last Summer we had a lot of iced Hibiscus Tea.  The red flowers are the best.

Supper happened. A hunt for evening basketball games happened.  The Red October hunt is over.  Monday night is usually not a good ball night.  But Duke and North Carolina could be a good possibility.

So the day was a good one.  I got one more.  Some folks are not so fortunate.

No amount of regret changes the past.                                                                                                         No amount of anxiety changes the future.                                                                                                  Any amount of gratitude changes the present.

I hope your day was a good one. Mine fit that description. Only gardening could have made it better.
