Monday
I call this a crazy weather day. The temperature so far is pretty moderate. I think the real cold stuff is coming tonight. At times it has been snowing so much it's difficult to see across the street. Then the sun comes out. It's one of those March lion and lamb day all within 10 minutes of time.
Kissed with a touch of snow.Knitting was the big thing today. I finished the four plus inches of ribbing and then onward and forward to straight knitting. Easy. I made two more Velcro straps for Y Chris and the M Arts sticks and delivered them to him at the Y. I didn't stay for Living Strong today since it was all about balance and falling safely, taught by Chris. I'll see him tomorrow for an hour for M Arts and falling. That's also about balance and falling safely.
My cane has been missing. I stopped at Goodwill to look for another one. That's where my cane was found about 2 years ago. There were walkers, crutches but NO canes. So back home and within 15 minutes I found my cane. Dah. I thought it was here. It slid behind a piece of furniture. I can say the Goodwill stop brought me some good luck.
More KissesToday I think how I feel goes with the weather. There has been a lot of sleep that goes with feeling a little tippy. While at the Y, Chris gave me a paper full of questions about balance and falling. I flunked 5 questions. Flunking 4 says falling can be a problem. That agrees with my PT Michael guy. I've heard it from two qualified guys now. It's time to believe it.
So, there is a little more time available for knitting and then there is a 3:45 pm check-up with my diabetic doc. I have questions for her and I'm sure she will have answers. She will have questions for me. I hope I have answers she likes.
The visit report... All my diet change work paid off with an A1C of 6.5. Everyone was happy. Me especially. The Protein drink helped. The Yogurt helped. The Y exercise program helped. The add blue berries and almonds...that all helped big time with no cheating along the way. I'm not a very disciplined person but I guess with determination, things can change. Now onward and forward for the long haul.
We had a quick supper of cabbage rolls and vegetables and then Ubered Eric home. I slow cooked 10 chicken legs in a good broth. Tomorrow I'll debone the chicken getting them ready for soup making but first filling the freezer for using later.
Even the oranges got a kiss.So it was a day of window watching the weather. I filled the bird feeders again. And soon there will be warmer weather and we'll see how plants in the garden came through.
