Saturday
Yes...the end of another week. By noon today there were a few new markers that happened. But first, today started very early so I just went with it. I'm always surprised no matter what time I wake up early or late. The day could be marked as another rainy gray morning. That have been a few.
These Schilling i\Iris are starting to show life. Not flowers, just life. A wonderful 2025 memory.I took a walk through the garden mentally marking where I saw jonquil buds showing themselves. One bleeding heart was peeking through, the other of another variety was still underground. My eyes are looking for blue bells. They are hiding at this point. Pussy Willows are ready to cut and I'm sure we could force some Forsythia. The Lenten Roses are sure doing their best to show off.
These flowers are so small, had I known that I would have left them at the store.I picked up the knitting taking a good look at where I was about two weeks ago not liking the results. This time instead of knitting on I decided to see if I could fix the bad place. Well, fixing didn't happen, so I ripped all the four inches plus 132 stitches on each round to give the project a second try hoping better results. It's not worth doing unless one does it right rings in my head spoken by brother-in-law Rick. So once again I'm sure good knitting will happen when using more care and awareness.
At 10 am I picked up neighbor Gina, and we were off to the Carmel Library for free garden seeds. And we were not alone. We picked out what we needed and then made a long visit to the stack area where the garden books were located. There were at least 10 books in my bag on wheels. Thank goodness for wheels. Most were garden books; some were about foods high in protein and one about carbs. I should be entertained for a while. The Zeigler flower and vegetable book came home again as it has done many times. It's a favorite and one I gifted daughter-in-law Kimmy a few years ago.
There are eleven books in this stash. I would say my mind will be well entertained.Lunch happened and my body knew for sure that half of the day was over. It seem to be using a lot of energy lately.
The afternoon brought time for looking through about half of the books and knitting started all over again. I made sure, more than once I was working with 132 stitches. The pattern for at least 4 inches is knit and pearl. The original pattern asked for 8 inches of knit and pearl. Four will do. I expect to arrive at four perhaps in a week that is if I stick to this project.
It would be great if I could have this hat finished for the next No Kings Day protest. I'm an inch into making that happen. My deadline will be the last week of March.A nap used up some of the afternoon. That's should not be a surprise. I watched some good basketball even though Purdue and Ohio State lost. The playing was good. Duke played in the evening all over N. Carolina. A few more games tomorrow and then it's tournament time.
Today was a NO Y Day. I think I made a pretty good decision to do a skip day. Some days are like that, says Alexandar.
