Tuesday

There was a lot on the invisible list of things to do.  So, I did the list.  And wouldn't you know...the garden was calling soon after what was a later breakfast.

Number one of soon to be many.  Proven...In the bud there is a flower.

First there was the walk around looking at yesterday's effort. Then the tools and cart left the garage and put themselves right beside one of the beds.  I gave them a little help with that chore.  And the music in the garden was loud and clear singing "fix me" to the accompaniment of birds singing.

Messy, Messy. This bed is showing us it's winter mode.  It's yelling HELP!

So I did.  The Lambs Ear plants go through a hard winter every year but there are surprises under those dead leaves.  I find them every year.  But there are so many Lambs Ear plants.  One can never have too many, I guess!  The job is racking off the dead leaves, trimming the dead stems and they are ready to go for another summer.  When the cold comes back they usually can take it.

Ready to grow for the summer.  This Lambs Ear brings a wonderful soft gray to the flowerbed.

Then it was to the succulents.  Now that's a different story.  There also are a lot of them. All the dead stuff was trimmed, and they were recovered with leaves.  They don't need a blanket of leaves to survive.  They need a blanket of leaves to protect them from the deer.  They now are hiding again.  I would guess half of the Lambs Ear and Succulents are finished.  More work is waiting.

Cleaned up and then covered up, giving it a hiding place at least for a while.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are Y days. Yesterday, I had a fall yesterday and jammed my shoulder and knee a bit.  When going up steps one needs to lift one's feet.  Dah!  Well, that didn't happen successfully.  No big fall but there is a shoulder that reminds me it happened.  So, should I go or should I stay?  Big question. 11:15 came and I was at the Y. There were tiny modifications and I completed both classes in great shape.  I'm so glad I went. I love my classmates and teachers. My body did just fine.

Oregano starting to show green.  Do I use it? No.  I just look at it.

The last class ends at 1:30. Lunch is always late, but the second class is so worth a late lunch.  I'm getting better at the M Arts but it's a slow go.  Chris is such a good teacher. We get history lessons each session. Today there were three students and two teachers.  Fun, fun, fun.

Surprise Lilly clump.  Doug loves these...I don't.  But here they are again.

I ate lunch and threw in a nap.  Then it was off to the grocery store with Doug.  The cart was FULL.  I think it should last for a very long time.  But it's won't.  Doug has no competition when it comes to pushing the cart.  And another good thing Doug does is help to put everything away.  That's even a better thing for me than pushing the cart.

I can find just one Lupine plant.  The others are not to be seen.  The seeds came from my camping friend who is a Sterling Michigan and Copper Harbor Michigan resident. Such great memories.

Supper was cabbage rolls and salad.  Yum, yum.  I think there will be more of them after the freezer has given us it's last one.

Tonight, will be more basketball and knitting.  Same old same old as Jared would say.   It was a great productive day.  There is always music in the garden but, one must be silent to hear it.  The birds were such a treat this morning.  I did see sparrows in and out of the B B House.  I've got to watch that. They are B B killers!
