Friday
Big surprise...I thought this was going to be a week of rest with rain for most days. It didn't work out that way. Another beautiful day gifted. Or was it really a gift I needed. The morning started with a walk around after all the usuals and true to form, out came the garden tools. Eventually they were joined by the garden cart and then one big blue.
It was time for work on the east side of the house otherwise known as the front. I think a few weeks back it got a raking but it sure needed and received more than a raking today. There was digging, pulling, raking and transplanting. Then came cutting apart clumps that needed dividing followed with replanting. Woo. Lots accomplished but I'll add...NOT FINISHED! But we're on the way.
My neighbor a few doors south stopped by for Sweet Woodruff plants. We filled a large container and her wagon and later in the afternoon the container returned with the message that she had enough SW to get a good start on the area to be covered. As I worked in the front of the house I found more of that beautiful ground cover. And to think...The SW was a small little plug in a pot I bought at Rosie's years ago. Now it is in many places. Time is such a gift multiplying plants.
Tonight's setting for the requiem.
I worked until 3 and it was Protein time with strawberries. Yum ,yum. I added some chair time before supper. Then came blog time and tonight we will take with us to North to hear the Rutter Requiem, Bob and Rita Schilling. Bob directed the requiem years ago and Doug and I sang that very piece. It will be wonderful to hear it again. Tonight's service is the third we have attended this week. I guess you could say we're church folks.
The first little money plant flowering. In a couple of weeks there will be bigger stalks with many purple flowers. These plants take two seasons to mature.Tomorrow is work morning transforming the church visually into Easter. It will be a busy morning but one well worth all the effort. We've done this before and we'll do it again.
