Monday

Once again showing off being among the first to bloom.  There are many buds.

The day started with light coming in the window.  I love it!  Some mornings start in the dark.  This one didn't.  Breakfast happened and then a walk with coffee.  Decisions made.  Today was the day transplanting of B Eyed Susan's would happen. I have been putting it off for better things.

I filled a space that didn't produce much Okra when it was planted.  Some years it was overrun by bushes.  So today I decided to let Susan take over.  And she will with time.  I can forget about that space.  After all that it was time to put on my Uber hat and take my friend to the eye doctor.  She had a good exam and received new prescriptions with the hope of seeing better.  I think it will work well for her.

Once again Butterfly Weed is emerging.  Well, all but one bunch.  It's flower is bright orange with the  Monarchs loving it.  I may need to do one replacement plant with caterpillars in mind.

After taking my friend home I was on my way to Cool Creek Park to see their collection of native plants for sale.  I found a yellow cone flower that I've been looking for.  It's in the ground as we speak avoiding bad critters.  The park has native plants to sell with good prices.  The selection is a bit sparce today but they will receive more plants soon. I'm looking for a Spice bush.

Daylight was almost gone when taking this picture.  The plant will grow tall with droopy flowers                       that I think are beautiful.  A fence post with character will help with standing tall.

Back home and the afternoon continued with digging holds for plants ready to plant.  When I fed the birds this morning I happened on a mess on the patio.  My guess a racoon made a visit and dumped a bunch of plants and more.  The B Bird feeder was hanging crooked.  I think there was a climb to the table and then a jump to the feeder with little success of finding something to eat.  Everything waiting to be planted was planted this afternoon.

Once again the first group of holes took me to old foundations that supported farm buildings that were on our lot before the house was built.  So the holes happened somewhere else.

Now the hope is that the rabbits don't find it.  They look a little rough and need to settle in.

I spent some time working on another shorter pussywillow fence. The hope is that the Queen of the Prairie will stay where it needs to stay in a better up right stance.  Always trying.

Tonight's supper was with the North Group again at McAlister's.  Another house full for sure with good visiting.  Then an evening with coffee and TV.  It was a good Monday.
