Saturday
Today started weather wise with sun and no rain, then rain, then a sliver of sun again and ended with a whimper of not much of anything else.
It was off to church arriving at 8:30 sort of like it was a soup kitchen community meal making day. No way that was on my plate, if you remember. The sun was shining in the east window of the sanctuary bringing a magical touch that I've seen often when preparing for Easter. often before workers arrive. It's a wonderful treat for the eyes and heart. Most of the black came down. Well, all I could reach and then the beginning of preparing the altar area with flowers and banner for tomorrow's celebration of He has risen. My silent contribution before the crew arrived.. I moved to doing a few other last minute things in the chapel and then the Oehler's and Goetzinger's and Dot Owen appeared. Later and I could say almost to late, and then late for sure, a few other folks appeared when we were closing shop!
The Dog Wood tree made it just in time for Easter. So pretty!
We worked through the assignment sheet for the morning that I printed last night and when all was checked off we gathered ourselves and declared all finished. All the preparation completed before today paid off and we were ready to leave the church by 11:00. Now I will admit this years visuals are much the same as some other years, the exception being the alleluia box and balcony banners but all does express the excitement of He has risen.
I sent a few texts to folks concerning tomorrow, stopped at the drugstore and then beat it home for a few hours. The yogurt shelf was empty in the refrigerator and thinking of a grocery store run was almost too much. We decided on a late afternoon run with the hope that the store would be lesser in population and their yogurt shelf along with a few other things would still be available.
There was a lot of afternoon chair time, TV time and of course nap time refilling the energy jug. Visually, Easter at North is in the can! The rest of the story will be added tomorrow.
The afternoon rain did more gifting. Some think it also is filled with fertilizer What ever the case, it certainly made everything a little more alive looking and powered up and ready to go. More wild strawberries were found hiding under things ready to send out cover up runners everywhere. The shovel took care of a few.
Aldi's did happen. Another rain shower gave us a shower. The yogurt and more are in the house. Life is good. God is good. Life is good along with some basketball tonight..
