Saturday
Crazy, busy day. I happy for my computer chair at 5:30. I was out the door at 8 am on the way to church soup kitchen day. We swapped with another group so today was our day just followed by last weeks work Saturday. I made a stop at the neighbor's garage sale and I saved some money because what I had in mind was gone. Then on to church arriving as usual at 8:30.
A beautiful Malow plant on it's way to be even more beautiful.I worked for about 20 minutes and then Dan came and I got him started on a few things. The rest of the crew and some new crew folks arrived and it was a full morning of work. And once again the deadline was met. We were busy with a crowd a bit larger than usual. But the food held out and community folks showed gratitude for a good meal including take home food.
More asparagus on the way.On the way home I stopped at Rita and Bob's with more clams to label. That's Rita's contribution to this endeavor. I brought home a new box of plastic bags to open and have ready for our group's use.
And once again I stopped at the garage sale and bought something vintage for grandson Eli. He's into that stuff and the purchase was a good one. It's in the mail on the way north that probably will take at least a week. Mail is slow these days.
Winter Savory and Tarragona to the left and curry to the right outdoing each other. After lunch I was on my way to the post office to mail the box. Then to deliver a stole to Anglia who wasn't home. I went on to Meijers for distilled water, then to the gas station and finally Aldi's where I picked up enough for the week. Well, that's my hope. Home James...the name of the car.
Woo. I unloaded the food and grabbed a protein drink and settled in for time to recharge.
Finally there was a walk in the garden. Picture time. The temperatures have dropped a bit and the much needed rain is over. It was a good rain but bring with it a big breeze from the North. I brought into the garage one of the flower pots. The other one will get a cover tonight. I don't anticipate frost but it could be close.
The rest of the day will be spent recharging. No garden work for me today for many reasons. There is more to come but waiting is at the top of the list. It's been a good day making many contributions in many places.
Doug made a trip to the drugstore. I should have included that but since I was home I suggested Doug do the honor.
We closed out the day with live streaming a concert Andrew was a part of at Goshen College.
