Sunday

 The morning was busy.  The afternoon was not.  Two opposites for sure and both good.  Happy Easter to my unseen friends of the blog.  

We were up early enough to make it to church by 8 am.  Doug took his pop tart with him and ate breakfast in the parlor with church coffee.  I sat and talked with church coffee having eaten breakfast at home.  That all happened after processing down both aisles for the first service. 


The Hirschman flowers tomorrow will be made into small groupings taken to hospital patients needing cheer.  

A bit of miss communication lead to leading a procession  with no choir following as I thought there would be.  It could have been worse so we just went with the flow.  There could have been more sleeping time for Doug but he survived without an 8:30 get up. 

There was time for visiting and then at the 11:00 service we once again with new folks processed in with the choir behind us.  Church was full with so so many visitors.  I'm wondering if a few were not from the final four folks.  That happened the last time basketball finals were with us.  No matter where they came from it was a good Sunday Easter Service.  Plants were given to those wanting them and I looked for children sharing Easter Eggs filled with jelly beans.  It was a fun time being together at the end of the Service.  

Altar flowers went to visitors and members.  Easter Eggs and two bunnies went to children.

We cleared a few things from the chancel area and I'll be back at church this coming week preparing for the series of sermons on Justice.  There were a few words with Darren concerning the series.  

Then home again with lunch and sleepy time on the chair.  I tried doing a garden walk but the chilly air told me inside the house was really where I wanted to be.  

Every year from the youngest choir, sings with gusto...Up from the grave He arose.  All three verses.  

The ladies are playing this afternoon and I woke up in time to watch.  So sorry Illinois took a loss last night but Michigan made it through in great shape. And soon it will be over for the year 2026 

We're heading to Kat and Eric and grandson Noah's place for Supper.  It's a great way to finish out the weekend.  I'm always given the directive of just come. So no carry in food, just come.

 Back home again in Indiana.  That's where we were arriving late afternoon yesterday after a wonderful time with Jared, Kimmy and the grandsons adding Kimmy's many relatives to our visit.  It was just what I needed.                                                         Happy times but good grief.  What's with the hair, girl?      We arrived late at the Jared/Kimmy Russell home Thursday afternoon again rediscovering family again along with many free-range chickens, three cats, joe, the horse, three ducks four ewes and Eli's sheep for this year's 4-H entry.  Numerous goldfish would join us later in the week.       This is Eli's friend Hope holding renamed Barb because her nest was found hidden in the rhubarb.             ...

Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

 With a good sleep to start the day, I was ready for whatever would come my way.  So, it was breakfast, the paper, a garden walk and more.  And there was a whole lot more.                                Th ese wood chips brighten my day.  A super reuse of a wonderful old friend. I was off to Quilt Quarters for yellow and green batik to add to the stole making.  And the morning was spent with the fabric cutter and the sewing machine.  I was on a roll but there were other plans for at least part of the morning.  A neighbor's tree down the road fell on the power lines and the electricity was no more.  So that meant the sewing machine didn't work.  It isn't the treadle type machine, you know. So, I did what I could meaning cutting more fabric for a bit .                        ...
