Sunday

I took a cup of coffee and my Iphone on the morning garden walk.  I did a little snooping.

A finally polished nest with the middle supporting a very deep area where the eggs and mother sit.  I dare a sparrow try to move in.  Mom will get them for sure.  It looks very empty from the round entrance hole. I suspect the bottom part happened before pine needles were found.  Pine needles for nesting material are preferred by Blue Birds.

Sunday, Sunday.  Church day and we were there again.  Jill preached about Thomas and his visit with Jesus after the resurrection.  This was the first of two Sundays available to order hanging basket flowers.  The profit from this project will provide for a few new things as well as restorations in the court yard area. I'll let other folks participate this year.  Flowers are so expensive.  Everything takes oil. Flowers take fertilizer and greenhouse heat to produce.  That means oil.

Home again and after another walk in the garden I planted a small sage plant in the pot found in the herb garden.

If you think about it, the pot has two sages.

The shovel and a few other things led to some edging of one of the flowerbeds.  Woo.  That really tuckered me out.

Again 2026 a very sharp edge.

I had a strawberry power drink and promptly fell asleep in the chair.  It was a good long nap.

Neighbor Bill came over telling me a Holiday Hills park board meeting was being held at their house and would I attend.  They needed ideas for new plantings.  That's a dangerous subject when there is committee work to do.  But they preferred natives and that made it a little easier. So after some input from everyone a list developed and the real committee, less me...will take the ideas generated a bit farther.

I thought about getting the pond working but ran out of time and energy.  The pump still                                     works after at least 4 years of summer work.  It's way to early for pond plants.                                                                              So waiting won't hurt a bit.

Then it was Zoom Sunday with the family.  Another good time of visiting.  Andrew and Jacob both joined us from their schools.  Rick was out to lunch I think.  We were a little late joining so we may have missed a few things.

So, the day was a busy time with some variety.  Another good day at church, the garden, family, the park committee and I'll add...life is good. Onward toward Monday.
