Tuesday
Brr...a cold morning and I really tried to work outside. That worked until my hands were so cold. So there was a cup of coffee to warm them. A few times with coffee and I got through the morning. This morning it was the north side of the house which is filled with ferns, hostas, and other shade things. That space got a hard raking and then weeds got a good pull. Now it's just wait for the plants to show up again. It's really an easy bed.
The hydrangea bush got a trim. It really broke it's dormancy so with all the dead stuff trimmed, it's looking pretty good. It's another North Plant Swap items that came from Nikki and Paul. We have other swap things from their yard.
Ready to go for the summer.I moved to another bed in the afternoon and pulled a lot of Persistent Charlie.
I did some transplanting and edging. Then the stone path got some attention.
Annual grass just takes over so I took over the take over. That was hard work getting rid of weeds in a stone bed. The path is clean for now and with a dose of preen it should stay that way for most of the summer.
Woo. It was a busy day and the body is telling me it needs a rest.
We're having some issues with a plugged drain. Doug thought the problem was the washing machine. It wasn't. Then Isley's was called, looked at it and referred us to a company that will send a camera through to locate the problem. That happens sometime tomorrow preferable the morning. It's one of those happy home owner things. Doug has a regular check up Dr. appointment in the afternoon. It feels like a squish day already. Thursday, we're both going to the eye doctor. Another squish day.
Last summer I removed many Solomon Seal from the back yard. Some to other spots and some to the B Blue. A huge Hosta went to three places in the front yard where it will have some shade again. This is one of three. It's the year to sleep again, then creep and then leap!I can finally say all of the gardens with the exception of one have been touched. Not finished, just touched and looking pretty good for this time of year.. The weather seems to be in the process now of warming up. I may start zinnias soon in milk jugs giving them about a month to grow before transplanting. Now I like that word transplanting. I've spied a few more self seeding plants growing. More milk weed is up and looking good. I think there may be an over abundance this year. I'm hoping for an over abundance of butterflies.
The birds are plentiful. The blue birds are checking out one of the houses. Finch are everywhere. Life is interesting.
By the pussy willow fence. A good spot for family raising.
