Wednesday
We have been gifted a gray rainy day. The outside world is loving it. The green is greener and what was small yesterday has grown a bit today. There seems to be a bit of spring in the Spring even though we might not think so. And true to expectations, the Lenten Roses moved yesterday are feeling so much better.
The agenda for the morning included a trip to church with the to do sheet full. The last of the Palm Sunday, Easter flowers bills were submitted. I always feel so good when that has been completed. Then I moved on to more Saturday preparation for the worker bees. What happened Monday and today will make Saturday so much easier. Banners for the sanctuary, narthex and west entrance were selected. Processional banners were put together ready to be placed Saturday.
Waiting behind the scenes for celebration Sunday. There may be new folks helping Saturday and being finished with much of the preparation will make it easier for placement and will pay off for me. It's called thinking ahead and eliminating questions of which there still could be MANY! It's just another something I learned to do when teaching. Completing jobs early is on time, you know!
Reminding us that our entire Easter Offering, one of the biggest of the year goes to the Umoja Project in Western Kenya. A program that provides funds allowing children in need to stay in school.I did some putting away of visuals found in the sacristy. There is always something waiting and if there are extra folks, more assignments will be suggested. I left the high shelve items for others to conquer.
I was home by lunch time and did some chair time with my eyes closed. The night again was pretty short and quiet chair time was so important at this point.
I did some listening to the Supreme Court hearing, did a few walk arounds in the garden identifying the next area to receive attention. The garbage cans are waiting for new offerings but will need to wait for dry material.
Later I tackled the job of wrapping all the flower pots with florist paper. They are waiting outside this afternoon feeling like they are in a cooler. Nothing could be better than to be ready.
Tonight's supper consisted of many camping pancake breakfasts I added sausage. The Y was skipped today and when adding all the walking that always happens when working at a big church the Protein Drink with strawberries was a welcomed treat. I got my workout and my pick me up!
So we're moving on to Thursday. There will be another trip to church. This time a meeting with all three groups who provide meals for the community folks during the week. Back south again for an evening Maunday Thursday service. Out car gets a workout for sure at certain times of the year.
