Wednesday

My goodness.  half way through the week.  I'll take it if the next part of the week is a little less eventful.  I guess if it's not I'll take it anyways.  So, I'll go with the flow. That's my choice.

A small little herb garden close to the kitchen.                                                              I'm hoping the bucket Rose Marie will continue to have signs of growth.  Fingers Crossed.                                                         The clock is advertising the Thyme herb.

The morning started with clouds and cool weather.  Then the sun came out and all was right with the world.  I bundled up and grabbed all the tools and headed to the last stand of weeds that hadn't been touched.  It was time for the bed along the driveway.  And when getting a good eye on the situation, the weeds turned into a bed overridden with Black Eyed Susan's.  Bad girls for sure. They were choking out the iris so the morning was spent with liberation.  It's sounds political.  And I wouldn't say I did a 100% job but I'm close for sure.  Onions were found, grass was found, Charlie was here so I call it a major morning.

This side has Becky Daisy's,  Peony's and Babtisia just slow to appear.
Each end has B Eyed Susan's and Day Lilies and two large patches of small purple iris.

Midway through the morning another truck pulled in the driveway with the assignment to "blow out" the line to the grinder.  And yes, we now can say we reached success and our water problem is no more.

I continued working until it was time for Doug's Dr. appointment.  I never go with him so this time was the first.  He never tells me much about his visits and usually says the next appointment is in 6 months.  Well, I'm sort of over that. Tomorrow I'm picking up my NEW glasses Doug has an eye exam.  So That's two visits for me with Doug and the Doc. Woo, Woo!

More garden work happened when we got home with the spring gardening work moving right along. Another big blue is filling up but I think that will soon slow down  I'm so grateful for time and energy to do the garden.  Fall always gives me time to wonder what Spring will bring.

Liberation day for sure.  I'm looking forward to a clean iris bed.                                                                          Old fashioned iris from Doug's fathers patch.

If you have never seen the garden you probably think why so much and why does it take so long.  I would say there has been a lot of dirt time already for play. At one point I wanted another big sun garden.  Now I say enough. The garden has been and continues to be a healing place for my mind and body particularly since cancer has been with me. I can forget about everything but what is right in front of me.  Music plays in my head.  Today it was the Rutter while I raked, pulled and pushed and dug through what needed to leave. The garden gifts me with something good to think about.  I love to see what it will become.  I guess you might say it's my hiding place. Everyone needs one.

I spent a few minutes visiting across the street with Gina.  She thinks garden as well.  She's done a monumental job in a year since her move from Florida.

Doug did a uber for Eric late in the day.  I stayed home to write and take a few pictures.  No basketball now but starting in May the ladies start their games.  And it's for us central Indiana folks time to support the Fever.  Woo, woo. The beat goes on for many of us.  It's a gift beyond measure.

Now the rest of the story.  Kimmy decided a couple of years ago that ducks would be fun to have on the farm.  She got a few and one was Mr. Teal.  He stayed with them but left last year.  Now he's back with a Mrs. and a family.  I think this is just a really funny story.  One never knows what the kids will do.  Kimmy thinks they will be off on another trip soon.  I'm not so sure thinking that perhaps Eli who loves animals of all kinds might adopt them.  Yikes!  Well, no need for any college expenses.              Now wouldn't you stay around if you had such a nice quiet and safe pond for swimming.
